Because knowing Apple, this thing will cost EASILY $500 neighborhood... In which case it WILL NOT sell like hotcakes.

The Kindle sells like hotcakes because it's affordable and does only one task, and does it well.

This is not a Kindle. It's a giant iPod Touch and it WILL not cost the same as a Kindle.

$499 for the base model sounds tempting, until you realize that you don't get anywhere near the storage for all the stuff you can load onto the tablet, and you still don't get the full functionality

16GB is barely any space at all for a netbook/tablet. You add on movies, music, games, photos, it's going to fill up fast! I feel like I barely have anything on my iPhone compared to the average user and I'm already hitting a little over 11GB.

If you want the model with 3G, it's almost $200 more, plus some money to ATT every month.

It's unlocked. You're not stuck in a contract with AT&T. If T-Mobile's got data, you can get it from there instead. Or you can get a pre-paid data service. 🙄

The price is right. But, not 499, 629 if u want 3G. And really, if u buy one,
you might as well get 3G. Still not a horrible price.

Not true everywhere though, 3G patchy in the UK and some networks overloaded with iPhone traffic already. Wi-fi might be OK for me for Rev.A.

Seriously though I can't imagine typing on this iPad for long periods of time. My fingers are already saying "Ouch." Then, there's the keyboard dock but it appears to me that it's only good when using it on a desk.
