????????!!!!

Wait how do I delete a message? I wanted to test if you could modify other user's quotes... And you can. But I don't wanna get banned.

Whether you think there's an issue, no issue or limited issue. One thing I don't think can be argued.

Apple's PR is backfiring and badly. For a company so slick with their marketing I feel that on this ONE incident they've dropped the ball. Not the issue. The HANDLING of the issue. Two very different things.

This is complete BS. My Droid X does not do this.

In addition, forget bars, lets look at dBm.

Come Apple try being truthful for once and stop playing childish games.

dBm
dBm
dBm

And I'm posting this from my iPhone 4 whilist administering the "death grip" in an location where I have 3 bars at most. Wifi off, and on 3G. (I'm maintaining the grip as I submit the post).

What is Apple trying to show? The iPhone 4 has the same bad signal issues other phones have?

Quite the opposite. It is showing that other phones have the same bad signal as the iPhone 4.

What's the old saying, "People who live in glass houses should not throw stones". (For those that don't understand the phrase: Don't criticize other people when you yourself have faults and weaknesses. -GoEnglish.com)

I don't think (or at least hope) that Apple isn't dismissing their issue. I would like to believe that it is just a subtle message to other companies not to jump on the bandwagon in order to make your product look better.

Let's just wait and see how this issue is addressed. Short term = bumper pad. Long term = ???????

If your mad about apple posting these videos you should be mad at other companies for jumping on the media bandwagon and making fun of the iPhone 4 for having antennas, just like every other phone on the market.

If everyone hadn't acted like the sky was falling we'd still have cute ads advertising FaceTime.

If you think this is specific to the iPhone 4, you know next to nothing about EE. If you think it's a major issue on the iPhone 4, you probably don't own one.

Not the issue...

The issue was handled very, very well...AFTER Steve Jobs blew it by communicating with a few consumers BEFORE consulting with his PR team or having any kind of strategy in place. Apple blew it, yes, but their crisis management after the fact was appropriate.

All this finger pointing brings this problem to the surface so it can be addressed with future models. I noticed some people are sensitive to this style that Apple uses to communicate this problem. What would be a better way to bring this info to the public?

Good point, but that's not gonna work with these people. You are arguing with people who ACTUALLY BOUGHT a Droid!:eek::eek: Even raw facts cannot convince them. A personal experience will be called an unfair test by them.

In case it's not really clear, I agree with you. The iPhone 4 antenna issue is overrated.

Both Motorola and Verizon Wireless poked fun at the iPhone 4 antenna issue when promoting the Droid X, stating that users could hold the phone any way they like... Now what?

Wrong.

Apart from Job's idiotic initial email, this will be taught as a masterclass in the future. I've already explained upthread.

I held the phone the same way in the video and it's incredibly unnatural. Only retarded people hold it that way. I guess Apple's video is warning retarded people to not hold the Droid X that way. Thanks Apple!

Note: Why is there no 3G or 1X in the notifications bar? Doesn't anyone find that peculiar? Has there been any kind of umm... "editing"?

Some of the mindless people here who say, "OKAY APPLE WE GOT IT, STOP BEING PETTY, YADA YADA YADA...", TBH, you guys here are the very ones who created this disaster forcing Apple to come to their defense and do desperate tactics for damage control. As soon as one person brings up an issue here, the domino effect begins and the crap just snowballs. Some of the mindless people here just love misery and love complaining and love problems and they can't stand to hear good news coming from Apple.

I notice a lot of the Droid Dumbasses here are ignoring the current screen problems with the Droid X, they like to keep that quiet so the don't make Google/Motorola look bad and cause them to do desperate damage control like Apple. :p

What I never understood was if the bumper fixed the problem why didn't they build the bumper into the phone?

Because Apple is into "industrial design" lately. It's all steel and glass. Having a plastic part would be an embarrassment. Well, they got embarrassed anyways.

What the hell, another video bashing other phones, I've been very unimpressed with Apple lately.

Seems legitimate to me. Apple gets beat over the head and shoulders because their phone drops a few bars if you grip it tightly. So now they show that this effect is not unique to Apple. I'd call it educating the media.

At least they didn't mention how the screens are failing on the DroidX. Will there be a recall for that?

"Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of DROID X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact a Motorola customer support center or Verizon Wireless." - Engadget

Thank you Motorola for acknowledging and fixing the problem so quickly!

I agree except for the part about the iPhone. It loses bars pretty easily. Still, a minor issue considering it is so common and easily fixable.
