Understood, but I think you should give it more time, I mean iPhones have the App store and iTunes! So much more as a whole package don’t you think?:apple::apple::apple:

iTunes music works on many devices, not just iPhone. iTunes TV/movie downloads are garbage infested with DRM, do not buy them even for iPhone or iPods.

The App Store, while not a bad proposition, suffers from a flood of simple "get rich quick" apps that all amount to Flashlights. Or 1 app for 1 book/magazine. Seriously, amount of apps available is disingenuous. I'd rather Apple had kept it low, but prevented the flood. Look at all the "LED Flashlight app!" that came out when Apple opened the floodgates on that one.

And just a question, why do you keep posting Apple logos in triples and quadruples after your posts ?

And your number (or total lack of one) comes from where? Anyone? Bueller? Do you just intuit that it's out there, because every event that affects you is "just the tip of the iceberg"?

He didn't quote a number. How can nothing come from somewhere ?

And his lack of a number doesn't mean yours was any better or even close to right.

You misunderstood Jobs. It's ok, his statement was made in a way to make it sound like what you understood, but to say something entirely different. That's what spin is. You got caught, don't worry about it, happens to the best of us.

Ugh. I used to think Apple had class. Now this video reeks like a politician's campaign ad.

Apple: "Since we have nothing positive to say about our platform, let us now proceed to mud slinging and a smear campaign against our competitors."

Lame Apple. This just shows how low you've sank these days...

Because it’s there I guess, never really gave it much thought.

No, what it shows is how our network news has turned into Access Hollywood and the Enquirer. Had the news and the rest of the media reported this responsibly, Apple wouldn’t have to bother helping them report the news.

BTW, where are the long lines returning the iPhone 4?

Yeah, I have been flipping between the pro's and cons for a while now, got a few paid for apps too - I don't like cases really as I always have the phone loose in my pocket so "having" to use a bumper is annoying... I like the widgets on the Desire though not the battery life (though my mates say 2 days running is no probs, have to take with a pinch of salt) - I prefer the iPhone screen though the oled on the HTC is more vibrant, the HTC also allows your own choice of ringtones/alerts, is louder, vibrate is stronger (handy when phone in pocket!) and is actually faster to load web pages etc when we compare side-by-side (I swear the iP4 hates sharing wi-fi). Of course the HTC also does Flash video as well. The iPhone is slicker and prettier in many ways, the neat iOS hasn't changed much because it works though it is starting to seem dated and it is at least physically smaller (until I whack a bumper on it).

So it's close and the deciding factor is Steve Job's condescension at the moment, the Desire is far better than I would have given it credit for based on seeing past smartphones running "Windows mobile" and the like and I have to admit I was a little deflated on first comparisons between the two with my friends, I was expecting to blow them out of the water with the iP4 where instead I've just had to put up with comments about "holding it the wrong way" accompanied by much chuckling... :(

People in glass houses.... If the rest of these bozos hadn't picked up this media tizzy and tried to run with it then Apple wouldn't have to put them in their place.

Also please show me where the manufacturers are directly refuting these videos? Guess they can't since it's showing the truth and not just some "mud" Apple is slinging.

Come on buddy those other phones are just not the quality of the iPhone and does the way you hold your phone really cause you problems, I just can’t believe it’s that bad. I bet your mate’s really want the i4 that’s why they’re bagging you, jealous?

I haven't found any video on youtube where the death grip on the Droid X is replicated. Does anyone have a link?

Do you have ANY idea how small and thin antenna wires are. The amount of space they eat up on the inside is negligible at best. They can fit those things in any random free space.

Do you have any idea how bad antenna wires behave if there are impedance discontinuities due to lack of enough consistant free space and even dielectric constant of that free space?

You can lose as much or more from the internal feed reflections of these impedance mismatches than from any "death touch".

Read up on microwave antenna feeds and their SWR problems. There's a vast literature. The ham radio targeted reading material doesn't require a graduate degree to get some feel for the subject.

Oh I know, we've been taking the p### out of each other for months since the first of them bought the Desire as the iP4 was imminent - I text him last night to say O2 have allowed the change over and that I'd be changing for the Desire next week - even then he said "dude, are you sure? It is a nice phone..." But yeah, it does cause me problems, especially in the pocket (I expect, rather grossly, in the hot weather we've been having that the "humid" environment in my pocket is not helping the antenna issue as I've had at least half a dozen straight to voicemail calls that I never experienced on my old 3G).

The thought of being tied into a two year contract I wouldn't have taken for another phone bugs me because of the flaw, I can get the Desire on a 12 month and get the next iPhone which I sure after all this fuss will be flawless! I'll see if I still feel the same when I go to hand it over next week - I could well have a change of heart! That said Android 2.2 is on the way and seeing that my mate's phone already seems to outperform mine on pure speed then those HTC's may get even better - the iP4 has lost a little of it's "cool" status in all this uproar sadly and the "quality" part only counts if the phone is reliable for me at the end of the day :(

Where have I said "Go away"? Link please.

I can’t tell you how many threads I was told to “move along” when I tried to express an opinion in one of the anti-iPhone 4 threads. Most of the people that know me, know I’m not some rabid Apple fanboy without a brain. I actually got a comment like this, “We’re trying to fix this issue, and if you’re not here to help, move along,” or something to that effect. Oh, and the “The more noise we make, the better chance of getting Apple to do something”…..priceless.

Some of the posters on here seem to be expressing that they won’t buy the iPhone 4 because of Steve Jobs attitude. Seriously? Who gives a frak what his attitude is. I buy stuff, because of what the stuff is and how it works. When Steve said, “We love our customers,” I thought, okay the fanboys creamed their pants, but get back to the subject, okay?

Where are the long lines returning the iPhone 4? Anyone?

Actually, I would've preferred they not try to deflect, deny and spin. But that's just me.

Deflect, Deny, Spin.

My issue is with Apple's denial, deflection and spinning, which you seem to be participating in wanting to ignore the very crux of the issue, which is the 20 db drop.

Answer this if you truely are arguing in good faith, otherwise, you are just denying, deflecting, spinning.

And btw, your article points out how the Apple spin managed to deflect the issue by Apple issuing a denial ... Not exactly what I call a glaring positive review.

Especially since Dilbert's author seems to agree that Apple's brilliance is in how they managed to deny, deflect and spin and that the media bought it. ;)

Again, if people stop spreading spin and stop trying to deflect, I will stop posting. Simple as that.
Lol. Broken record much?

Has it occurred to you that the wide variety of free bumper cases actually suffice to literally 'complete' the phone, for those small few who have been experiencing issues? Had the iPhone 4 been constructed with an outer case, the free external casing fulfills this detail, for those who require antenna insulation.

I happen to prefer the outer antenna, (uncovered phone) and don't mind any mild attenuation which may or may not occur, since the reception of this phone has been far, far superior to that of the 3GS.

But how would you ever know about that?

Yes, you are! You have been posting on this site for weeks about how poor the iPhone is, and you've never even used one! Do you not understand how annoying that is???
Apparently not.

Do you own a iPhone 4? You seem to know a lot more then most owners of iPhone 4’s. My iPhone 4 works fine even when touching the “sweet spot” in a bad signal area, the bars will drop but I don’t lose calls or data. When I’m in a good signal Area I cannot get the bars to drop at all. I use my iPhone 4 without a case and can say the reception has been better then my other iPhones (original,3G & 3GS). Can you tell me how your iPhone 4 has performed? :apple::apple::apple:
Obviously, some expert denial, deflection, and spinning of issues speculated, surmised, and based purely upon non-experience.

This topic is still being discussed!?
iPhone news items are tiresome enough on this site but this one has become ridiculous.

All i know is that IN MY OFFICE I get 2 bars on my 3GS, my friends 4 gets 3 bars, and my other friends X gets 2 bars, I can make the 4 drop to 0 with 1 finger, i have to cover the X to get to to 0 but normally it only drops to 1, same with my 3GS

The problem is not loosing bars, it's that the 4 can drop signal with just 1 finger
