I'm confused to your response. That is still a Mac vs PC ad. I'm talking about a commercial where they focus on showing the actual computer. Oh wait... Was there a commercial for the Macbook Air?

remenber the campaign that windows make last year and was offering a laptop to normal people on the street caught by accident , well was not normal people ,it was a hired actriz.

I've been largely indifferent to these ads (as I am to all ads) but the "Let's go to another commercial" actually got a laugh out of me.

you must be working in the burger king, poor little guy ..its sad.... someone needs a hugh:eek:

Word of friendly advice... Some may find your comment offensive. It is never in good taste to attack a person's financial status.

its 7lbs and 1.6" thick at the thickest point, the thinnest is 1.3" its not that heavy for how much processing power you have underneath (2 hard drives is going to weigh SOMETHING but it gives you ~190% performance over a single drive when doing large file copies)

LMFAO, OMG ITS SOOO big i cant carry it, too emo have to cut myself.

I really wish they would use the "Think Different" commercials again. They were beautiful, inspirational commercials. That is what people should think of when they think of Apple.

How's the battery life on your super machine? Exactly… I would be shocked if it could get 2 hours. Gaming performance isn't on my laptop wishlist. Battery performance is.
Try gaming on a MBP for awhile, and see how long it lasts. It won't be the touted 7 - 8 hours of span.

There's no doubt that the MBPs last longer than a standard laptop in terms of battery life, but don't forget, their battery life testing isn't exactly with intensive applications:

"The wireless productivity test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing various websites and editing text in a word processing document with display brightness set to 50%."

Ok, these commercials are an improvement from previous ones. Instead of playing the "big, scary viruses" card, Apple stated their highest customer satisfaction point, which is valid and a big reason I'm with Mac, too.

Still a little vague on what macs can DO, though.

What does this have to do with my original question? I could not care less about Microsoft's commercials.

I really wish they would use the "Think Different" commercials again. They were beautiful, inspirational, completely ineffective commercials. That is what people should think of when they think of Apple.

There, I edited your sentence for accuracy. :D

Yeah Apple was really raking in the money while airing those ads!

The best part I find about these commercials is how fast apple managed to get them out, but still taking their time in releasing an update for Snow Leopard.

As incredible as those commercials were, they aren't what are really needed right now for Apple. Think different was a campaign desperately needed in the most difficult time in Apple's history. It showed to the world that Apple was built on the idea of being something new and unique. It was needed in a time where Apple was struggling, needed in a time where Apple had forgot how to "think different." When Steve came back, he realized this and helped put Apple back in the spotlight it should have been -- a company that sets itself apart from others.

The commercials nowadays are right where Apple needs them -- to boost themselves even further up in marketshare and leave PCs in the dust.

I find it funny when people disparage these current ads when Apple was actually losing market share with every ad prior to the switcher ads. If the ads don't move your product, they're crap, no matter how artsy or beautiful they are.

LOL not exactly, i would rather have my computer perform decently rather than have a shiny slow piece of garbage.

the imac still uses notebook class core2duos, do you have any idea of how slow that is compared to a desktop Core i7 for CHEAPER? now matter how shiny it looks i cant play Call of duty 4 worth a damn on a 9400. that and i cant trans code any videos in a respectable amount of time.

BTW my gaming rig now cost over $2700 since i added a 47" 1080p 120hz display and 7.2 surround with polk audio speakers/velodyne subs

im no stranger to spending a huge amount of cash, but the difference between me and you is i actually have something to show for the money i spend with equivalent performance

dont believe me?

partial unboxing of the speakers for testing (this pic is kinda old and dont show the subs or the TV mounted to the wall) gaming rig is the Antec 900 case which is now in its own office in my new basement that i built specifically for gaming

You mean:

(Mac guy): "Blah, blah, Windows has to release security patches necessary for safer using..."

And then Apple has to patch a major security flaw a month after SL comes out?

They're highly misleading ads.

you have no idea what you are talking about.

If you think windows is in ANY way better than OS X then you need your head examined.

Apple's marketshare in terms of purchased/owned hardware goes up. And I'm all for it.

The percentage of exclusive OS X users in a household? Fairly stale. Remember the report that a large percentage of Mac households also run Windows (either having Windows-based systems, or running Windows through Boot Camp or virtually)? http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2009/10/macs-in-12-of-us-households-majority-also-have-windows-pcs.ars

The reality is, Microsoft doesn't care whether someone runs Windows on Mac hardware or on a system from Dell, HP, etc. They only care about selling copies of Windows. And apparently, most Mac users also use Windows. Apple is happy. Microsoft is happy. The world is happy.

The only one "losing out" on it are the PC manufacturers.

Try browsing the internet on that ASUS …see how close you get to MacBook performance.

Like I said. I don't buy my notebooks to game.

Nice setup. I like to see screenshots of others' desktop setups.
