Let's hope for some better integration with AppleTV and iOS devices, as well as the release of iOS 4.2 (probably not).

I would like to be able to have my music folder organized in the iTunes folder but my movies somewhere else because they no longer fit in my MacBook Pro.

I'd lean more towards the Beatles than any geeky option. It's mainstream news. It'd also be lame. They wouldn't push Facebook in Ping this hard and non-geeks aren't likely to be too excited about murdering their data limits with cloud streaming.

Notice it's 10a EST, not PST.

That could mean something. Either cloud, subscription, or Beatles. That's my guess.

Beatles? I doubt they'd hold a major event for that...? I mean, they're okay, but I can't see a major announcement to peddle their crap...

So this announcement is big enough to take Apple's homepage up, but not big enough to warrant a keynote...

90 Second Song Previews is definitely happening... but what else?

Subscription service is the easy guess, but part of me thinks that's keynote material.

Perhaps iOS 4.2? But that's definitely not big enough to warrant homepage placement.

This is uncharted territory... I can't remember Apple ever preparing to announce something like this. Who knows what's in store.

Not 4.2. Song preview increases wouldn't get this attention. It's something bigger.

It's not so much an event but an announcement. Beatles on the iTunes store warrants an announcement. It would also explain the international times.

This sounds much bigger than just iOS 4.2 or 90 second song previews.

Sounds very interesting though. Massively hoping for cloud-based iTunes and some kind of subscription service. Caught everyone off guard with this haha.

In my particular case, iTunes streaming wouldn't really be such a huge deal. Firstly, because I can't even receive a signal while I'm riding the subway, and secondly because AT&T now has tiered data plans. I hope this doesn't mean Apple will stop upgrading the flash capacity of its mobile devices.

If they allowed ala-carte streaming of HBO -- that would be awesome. :) I'm not holding my breath on that one.

iTunes

Given the smaller capacities of the SSD of the new MacBook Air, Streaming seems likely.
On the other hand, I emailed Apple last week about creating a way to sync your computer to an external hard drive, kind of like you sync your ipod to your computer, and they mentioned nothing about streaming, only that the price of SSD should come down to a point where you will have enough space to store more on your computer... Should be interesting!

iOS backup/sync to the cloud!

iTunes with a web version that allows you to sync or backup your device to the cloud from any pc or mac! Would also be good to download latest podcasts directly to the device without having to go to iTunes and look for more from that stream, let it download from all latest subscriptions and mark things played. Then if you get on your home computer, sync all the latest changes with your library there.

That would be totally awesome!

"I'll never forget the day iTunes added 90 second previews."

lol

Think, McFly, think!

Maybe Apple figured out the rights issues to create a new international one-iTunes-for-all? Well, that's my dream anyway :)

Probably just cloud stuff though.
