I like the idea of the Beatles... but I think that would be a bigger announcement.

I would like to be able to re-download my songs from iTunes... that doesn't require a big data center in NC...

Notice it's 10a EST, not PST.

That could mean something. Either cloud, subscription, or Beatles. That's my guess.

Very good point on the time zone detail. Most announcements happen at 10AM Pacific, since they are dependent on Apple's California offices. The Eastern detail rather heavily implies it's dependent on Apple's Eastern offices, and we know the new data center is outside Charlotte, NC.

Something tells me there might be a feature hidden inside iOS 4.2 that won't be turned on until tomorrow.

[I highly doubt this is for iTunes streaming. That would warrant a proper event with Steve Jobs. Whatever this is, it's more modest. Beatles would be logical.

They're bringing back the colored iTunes and changing the buttons back to their original location instead of looking like a traffic light. That's epic because the new interface sucks. Yes, I've already changed the buttons back to their original location.

-64 bit (please)
-90s preview
-movies in more countries
-Apple Tv in more countries
-Cloud
-New payment system for song, movies, books, apps, photobooks (iphoto, Aperture), etc. without needing a creditcard. I just want to be able to order photobooks with a prepaid iTunes card. Let's call it AppleMoney or iMoney or iCredit :)

I can't tell if this is a joke or not. I really hope it is.

And the avalanche of speculation rolls in... I'm not going to get any work done today am I...

Hmm...its hard to imagine anything major that wouldn't require a software upgrade, and its also hard to imagine that if there were anything hidden in iTunes 10.1 that it wouldn't have been noticed by someone (people have in the past dug through code of apple releases and found secrets or hints of secrets (e.g. model identifiers for future products)).

While the international vs. U.S. permission to launch 90 second previews seems like a good argument, I think 90 second previews would be a good candidate for this "exciting" news as I would imagine it wouldn't involve any major code in iTunes for people to discover.

Re-downloading songs is possible. You just have to talk to them nicely and convince them you really need it.

I've done it once but I know people who have talked them into re-downloading all of their music several times.

I would assume that Stevo would show up for a Beatles announcement - doesn't seem like the PR points towards that though :)

If it's hidden they hid it well. People dig through betas like nothing else.

I hope they strip out all the bloated crap :p

It will probably be cloud based stuff (how long have they been hiring at the data centre) which is why the ATV no longer has a HD. Personally I prefer to be in control of my own stuff so won't be jumping on board anytime soon.

I too love making decisions about things before they've even been announced.
