I'm pretty sure what that line at the end means is that you'll need to sign a 2-year contract to get the iPhone, whether you're renewing your existing AT&T/Cingular service or signing on new. People who just signed with AT&T/Cingular? You're probably out of luck.
Almost certainly not. The MacBooks have an accelerometer in them, and they don't have an exposed vial of mercury anywhere. Most modern accelerometers are tiny piezoelectric devices.

If you look closely at all the videos when the iphone is turned if you look at the silver bezel it looks as if there is a silver liquid in the rim that flows as it is turned...look closely it is there especially on the Calamari one. Is this the accelermoter???
