I don’t trust Tim or anything coming out of Apple anymore after them telling customers iPad bending is normal
It still doesn't mean the cuts were surprising or unexpected. This isn't talking about scheduled production cuts. This report is saying an additional 10% cut more than was already planned.

Dun dun dun!
What's next on the "What can Tim do next?" show?
Apple never gave numbers for Jan-Mar so nikkei is pulling numbers out of thin air! This isn't talking about scheduled production cuts. This report is saying an additional 10% cut more than was already planned.
Absolutely. They predicted "slow" sales every year since the iPhone 7. I am not going to pull them out now, but you can look for yourself. Up until literally this quarter with iPhone in China, they have been wrong. They essentially predict iPhone cuts every quarter and they hope they are right once. While the XR version of the iPhone may be the best selling iPhone ever, Apple planned for even more that they targeted production way above thees numbers.
So, the cut in production report is believable; it is Apple that cuts its earnings estimate that lead to the decline. Yes the regular stock market also crashed, but Apple suffered more.
Do you have proof that the Nikkei is an unreliable source - I am asking sincere-mode.
I am an Apple fan, company and products; not so much the recent Mac range!
Pretty much. A few bent iPads don't make an international issue. We don't have evidence that more than a few are out of spec. Plus, Apple will replace them if they are.Yes, that's right fake news. iPads don't bend it's the tables they are on that are bent in photos. Siri isn't bad, it's that all AI's are confused by multiple zip codes.
Isn’t production usually cut as the year goes on, especially after Christmas?
Aren’t they the ones who hammered the IPhone X failure story last year this time and again the next two quarters and was wrong each time? While the XR version of the iPhone may be the best selling iPhone ever, Apple planned for even more that they targeted production way above thees numbers.

Or real.It still doesn't mean the cuts were surprising or unexpected.
Cutting production after the holiday shopping season is something the Apple has done every single year. It is neither surprising nor unexpected. Not sure why this appears to be some new strategy by Apple.
Well hopefully this means no $2k iPhones anytime soon.
Read the report. Original plans for this quarter obviously were mmuch lower than for the previous one (seasonality). Now these plans are cut by 10% (sales are lower than what Apple expected). But that's all goog. Apple is switching to services anyways. Apple is new IBM.Cutting production after the holiday shopping season is something the Apple has done every single year. If all previous Nikkei articles were FUD why has AAPL tanked? I thought Apple just announced officially that sales are bad. Or did I read it in Nikkei?Nikkei with another FUD article. What else is new? Very timely too...someone wants in lower.
Apple needs an “emerging markets” phone.
