Progressives really do utterly suck at PR, especially when considering how to come up with marketing that actually gets the buy-in of people who need a little convincing. One of the biggest problems holding back the progressive movement IMHO.

You have literally no idea what you're talking about.

Freedom of speech means the government can't block you from saying (most) things.

Freedom of private property means if you have your own private platform, your own property, you can do with it as you please. And this is exactly what Apple and Google have done.

If you believe the government should define what people do with their private property, then it is you who should consider moving to China. This is not tolerated in the USA.

And there is no room to tolerate the intolerant. It is a horrible idea. You cannot allow sedition, white power and fascism to rise, period. As a white woman (at least based on your pic) this is not something you likely have to consider on a regular basis as being an actual direct threat to you. Those of us who make no excuses for it will fight it tooth and nail, AND WE WILL WIN.

As a private business Apple should be able to set whatever rules they see fit for their platform. However, they should, and in some respects, legally need to be consistent in their application of these rules. And this decisions is not consistent at all and their reasoning would apply to a large number of apps and services: Safari, Air Drop, Mail, FaceTime, Messages. Pedophiles will use the Camera app to make child pornography, so Apple needs to either moderate content or ban the Camera app.

How often was the phone app on an iPhone "used to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the illegal activities"? And it certainly "also appears to continue to be used to plan and facilitate yet further illegal and dangerous activities." "Our investigation has found that Apple is not effectively moderating and removing content that encourages illegal activity and poses a serious risk to the health and safety of users in direct violation of your own terms of service". Apple better submit an update to the iPhone app with a "moderation improvement plan". Phrases in quotes are directly from Apple.

I'm half hispanic and what I'm saying is that when you give these companies the right to ignore dangerous ideas from only one side while silencing the other you've got hypocrisy. That sort of double standards shouldn't be tolerated but it is. Also, pointing out my skin color shows more intolerance than I show anyone. Character over color.

Agreed, defund the police is a bad slogan. The right, and extreme right, has a knack for easy slogans to spread their propaganda concepts and twist the mind of their acolytes. This is in line with totalitarianism which by its nature must control minds and keep people in line.

In contrast, liberal and progressive societies foster the free market of ideas, so it's much harder to package and push good ideas to the masses that depends on a web of connected ideas to make sense. A little more thinking is required.

It's so weird to see that some of these criminals were ex-militray. Military service means to serve the United States and defend its freedom and democracy. So why did they join the service? What did they think the military was protecting if not the U.S. Constitution? Did they think that the U.S. military was not a part of the United States of America and they were in the service to serve one man (e.g. Trump) and defend anti-democratic principles? boggles the mind.

That’s why all these big companies got such a huge TOS sheet. In essence any business you conduct on their platform is bound by their terms and you’re at their mercy. They’re businesses so if it’s bad PR, their gonna react in a way that may not always be appealing to you. Parler takes pride on being a platform free for all. But there have been plenty of reports of (prominent) liberals being banned from the platform when they try to voice their opinion. So yeah, each business only entertains you as long as you’re profitable or useful to their brand.

No no, please keep responding, and making excuses for the white power extremists in our midst. Keep trying to compare BLM protest organizing on social media with the coup attempt that was unsuccessfully launched this past Wednesday, enabled by Parler, which is at this very moment a hotbed of violent domestic terrorists planning parts 2 and 3 of their violent attacks. Show us that you are so so ok with this and that we should be very very upset Apple is putting a stop to it.
