That was unexpected but it will always show the green bubble for RCM/SMS 😃
Until the next time EU dictators want to tell Apple how to run their businessWe can now all live in technological peace.
Repeat after me.So stupid. I guess crying and complaining does work. Google needs to work on making their own products better rather than complaining about Apple's success. Many times, I have made fun of Apple for having an inferior keyboard, app icon layout, etc. But Apple deserves their success for their innovation. Google is just sad in this respect.
Steve Jobs would’ve told the EU to shove it.Until the next time EU dictators want to tell Apple how to run their business
prob will be a different color?I know that iPhone users will be able to know if messages were sent/received as iMessages if the messages are blue. But if both SMS messages and RCS messages are green, then how will iPhone users be able to know which messages were sent/received as SMS or RCS?
No it was not. Sooner or later Apple would‘ve jumped on this anyways due to it being the official GSMA standard.Well that was… unexpected.
Give a discount on IOS search engine revenue?I'm glad for this to happen.
Now, what will Google do in response?
All major carriers and phone manufacturers have adopted Googles RCS messaging app as standard. Also its still compatible with universal profile, they just added some extensions on top like E2E encryption. It tells you right in the app if you're messaging someone with standard rcs or e2e encrypted rcs.Read carefully…
“the standard as currently published by the GSM Association.”

Universal Profile
The GSMA’s Universal Profile is a single, industry-agreed set of features and technical enablers developed to simplify product development and deployment.www.gsma.com
Carriers that have adopted RCS will get native support, I’m guessing, in the Messages app. It doesn’t say anything about non-carrier solutions that currently depend on apps.![]()
He probably would have at least put up a fight. It's a slippery slope from here. Just wait until EU asks (tells) Apple to allow Android OS on iPhones and iOS on Android phones. They'll keep pushing this as far as they can.Steve Jobs would’ve told the EU to shove it.
It’ll be green text in a blue bubble.RCS message from another user: orange bubble
