there's no way that thing is coming down in one day with 10 people.. even if it were to be demolished on site, it would take more than one day to do that.

you also need custom rigged flatbeds (semis) to get the pieces out of the city.. likely requiring assistance from NYPD (and other agencies) just to get them from 5th ave over GWB (assuming).. then storage of the pieces during construction.. then bringing them back into the city. then (likely) reassembling..
we're talking hundreds of people involved in this and certainly more than one day.. it's months.. and every day of those months, apple will be paying a lot of cash for the proper care/storing of these glass panes.
and all that aside, it's NYC.. and NYC is expensive.. especially for construction projects.. contractor insurance alone is staggering.
