It's pronounced al-you-min-eum not aloo-min-um
aluminum
noun, often attributive alu·mi·num \ə-ˈlü-mə-nəm\
What are you two on about? Can't possibly be different spellings or pronunciations.

Stainless steel (I'm assuming they would use 302) is much harder and stiffer than 7075 aluminum and in a fully hard condition (such as you would see with a formed piece) is about as strong for the same weight. It also is more scratch resistant. It should work well in a phone chassis.I have trouble believing this. Aluminum is a much lighter material and they just perfected the colors with the iPhone 7.
I dont see any upsides in using SS. Anybody?
Hmm iPhone 8 with 256gb of storage 3gb ram at 1500$
He is English, and that's how aluminum is pronounced to them.No more Jony Ive's "aluMINIum"? Thank God.
iPhone 8 Edition, not Premum*
*For those of you in the UK, Premium![]()
the new iPhone, now with twice the crackable surface area!
If you're British. In America it is spelled aluminum and pronounced as such, as well. There's nothing wrong with either version as both are technically correct. You mean aluminium. Which is the correct way to say it.

All I really read in these iPhone 8 articles is: "bla bla bla, will cost more $, bla bla bla"![]()
I truly believe that is exactly how they will be positioned.I truly believe these new iPhones will be the best iPhones Apple has ever made.
What I'd selfishly love to see is a 4.7" version of the 5 with a stainless steel frame to give it a little more heft.
That makes the iPhone 8 special for edition the most expensive iPhone in the history.Using current exchange rates and taxes, that'll round out @ $2,300 CDN
And also the most expensive iPhone in the history.I truly believe that is exactly how they will be positioned.
And that will not be inaccurate.![]()
Perhaps. And also the most expensive iPhone in the history.
it will make me sad if they give the Plus version features the non plus gets I don't want a phone that big I do want the new features tho... :-/ id even pay more to have them in the non plus version I don't want a huge phone... Apple are you listening?
The iPhone 4's stainless steel band, didn't scratch.
I hope the price is really high. I can afford it. Most of you can't. So that will mean it will be easier for me to get one release day.
democracyrules is right. It will be expensive. They made iphone 7 plus $20 expensive bcause they added a second camera, tbMB pro became $100 expensive as they added touch bar and same for other products as well. Even if they can give in similar pricing line up, they wont give it in same price. If you want more, pay more. That's what Apple's new strategy is nowadays.Perhaps.
If manufacturing processes can shave cost, they could maintain current pricing and see larger margins.
Let's wait and see.
