Here's my thoughts:

- New Macbooks
- Introduction of the 11"
- New version of iLife w/ new Graphic Application for HTML5 content creation
- Facetime for iChat
- Preview of 10.7 Lion, first beta release for developers (to be ready by January)

Lion will mainly have:
- Slightly UI changes
- New Coca 64 bits Apps
- Speed improvement, better use of GCD and Open CL)
- New Address Book (graphically similar to iPad version)
- New Calendar (graphically similar to iPad)
- New Mail with wide screen layout (such MobileMe and/or iPad)
- Access to iBookstore
- New Finder UI and features
- More cloud integration with MobileMe
- More multi-touch features

That's it for now... We'll see next week :)

I agree it's not a sure thing like iLife 11, but given the Back To The Mac / Back to My Mac parallels and seeing the local OS (Lion) as seen through/behind the Apple, I think it is quite possible that alot of our data will be hosted at and/or through the new data farm in North Carolina. They've got to use it for something, and TV rentals don't require the kind of horsepower and storage they've installed ... at least so far.

What about all of the iTunes new services film rentals included, it makes perfect sense to me that that hole Farm is for movie rentals, I expect that will be for the entire planet, perhaps they are anticipating growth of the Apple TV with its low retail price. Cloud computing is flawed, who wants there important personal documents stored miles aways on a 3rd party computer, i certainty wouldn't, like 3D-TV'S cloud computing is flawed and limited until the entire planet is on ultra fast fibre optic internet a lot of the time when i travel I also dont have internet access on my MBP either, so what use are files to me stored elsewhere?

One thing I do like about iOS that I wish would come to the Mac is the combine files into one big file.

I think that since the three fingered click on the mac does nothing it could do that.

If you click with three fingers on a folder or document and drop it on another folder/document... instead of putting the dropped folder IN the target folder... It instead combines the two into a new folder that prompts you to name it. On the inside you have both your folders.

What I expect at the event :D

Mac OS X 10.7 AKA Lion announcement

Major Design Changes, still keep in with the OS X look, but more polished overall.

More Performance enhancements

Demo of 7-10 of the major new features

iLife '11 Released & quick demo

One more thing...

perhaps updates to Mobile Me/MBA Refresh I don't see Apple updating the entire MBP line before the holiday season

I had to join the forums just to post this and reply to some of you... A few of you are getting a bit to fantastical with your replies here...

Let's break it down like this

Almost Guaranteed 90%+
  • iLife '11
  • New OS X (10.7) "Lion" - Most likely will not be OS XI-- that I believe will use the "cloud technology". However one person did post that this did allude to "back to my mac" which is a bit like Cloud technology... I doubt it though.

Likely 50-89%
  • Some kind of new hardware/hardware refresh- Most likely something with the MBA's possibly finding middle ground with the MBP and releasing a thinner MBP as well as a 10" netbook that doesn't have a diskdrive.
  • Something with the iMac maybe?

Unlikely 1-49%
  • A "one more thing" about the CDMA iPhone rumors flying around... This will probably get it's own keynote closer to December... Who knows?
  • White iPhone- Not like it's not going to happen... the store on Apple.com already has it listed... I just don't think this keynote will be the venue for it's launch... In fact I don't think there will be a MAJOR announcement.

There's a Better Chance that Apple stocks open at $0.25 Tomorrow 0%
  • 3D Technology - No, no, no, no and no. Apple is smarter than that... I think the fact that they have yet to jump on to Blueray shows Apple's patience with new technology. 3D is borderline fad at the moment and for Apple to devote a new line of computers to something that could eventually blow over, or could be extreme niche (I personally hate 3D), is extremely risky. I don't think 3D has a big enough share on the technology field for Apple to want to throw a whole new generation of computers out there...
  • Touch Screen - Doubt it... Touch screen computers are something that will (hopefully) never come to fruition. They are riding their flagship iPad hard right now and I don't think they would jeopardize sales of that new sector to releasing a computer with touch screen. If anything we'll be seeing updates to iPad in the 2nd quarter of next year...

As for the other comments...

10.7 will most likely end the OS X saga... I think OS XI will help break through in a new computing interface... as mentioned before Cloud.

If they do go to cloud I do like the idea of Cloud names as the new OS's buttttttt...

The constellation idea was pretty bad ass... Mac OS XI 10.1 Orion :D

totally agree, 3D Mac's would be nice, but only when u don't actually have to wear glasses to view it, i am also a strong believer of the MacBook Air being discontinued. By the way what is OS X "I"?

XI = 11 in roman numerals
X = 10 in roman numerals

I was just making an educated guess at what the OS 11 would be called :)

Layout of keynote

Steve Jobs will mention the white iPhone this keynote at the start for its release date, Go into details of IOS 4.2 then sales figures and then onto the new stuff, then he will move on to the MBA, explain the new one or the discontinue of it. if in that case he will explain perhaps a 12 inch MB. Then there will be a talk on the Macbook Pro, new look maybe or speed bumps with nicer displays. Then move onto lion. after the demo explain when the Beta will be out for developers and explain the release date, then steve jobs walks of stage :)

you really think new macbooks will be released? They just updated them a few months back and the design of the unibody macbook was launched late 2009 right? i guess it could happen, i mean look that the first unibody aluminum macbook, that didn't work out at all.
Anyway, i think this seems to be the most accurate prediction. BUT... does anyone think they might announce anything about the WHITE iphone 4 delay? I didn't read everyone's post to this thread so if this was already brought up i do apologize.

I can't wait. The Black iphone doesn't reflect me at all. I mean, I LOVE white. Black is such a guy color. :p
I'm only kind of kidding.

For all those Americans who were wondering there is a slim chance he may also mention something about an Verizon iPhone for the christmas break

I dont really want a new Computer at the moment, i just cant wait until next year when intel start shipping there fibre optic processors, imagine a Mac that can download a 90 minute long HD movie in under a minute

OH

And for those thinking he'll "reveal the white iPhone 4"

Sorry... He already did that I guess?

EDIT: You guys are so funny http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone?mco=OTY2ODA2OQ

Why would he reveal something he's already revealed.

They're redoing the scroll bars in all native Apple software to behave much more like the scroll bars found on the iOS, I've only seen a brief glimpse, but the scroll bars disappear when they aren't in use and look a lot like the scroll bars found in iOS Safari.
That would be horrible! Sure, in a small (screen size-wise), mobile interface it makes sense, but on a screen with enough space I actually want to see all the time how far down I have scrolled on whatever page I'm visiting or in whatever folder I am at that moment. In my opinion, it would be a serious step backwards from what we have now, to have the scrollbars disappear when there's no mouse movement.
