Apple to Introduce iPad 3 in First Week of March

Wishful, but unlikely. At this point, anything is possible. Knowing Apple, probably not.
CAN'T WAIT!! This will be my first iPad. Also will be my first launch line I'll be waiting in on launch day. I was on vacation when the iPhone 4S launch day was. So got it that Monday instead. Won't be at Fifth Ave NYC though. I'm a snow bird in Fort Myers til May so I'll camp out at the Estero, FL store 20 min away. Hell, it'll be warmer all night anyways than NYC.
My mother will be pleased but...

We've gone past the refresh date of the last two generations, and not even a rumor about the release date of Ivy Bridge CPUs suitable for the iMac or what kind of GPUs, or SSD...

I'm hoping that there will be a "Just one more thing..." reveal for the new iMac at the iPad launch.

Heh. I'm excited to get my mitts on a retina-like screen iPad. I don't expect many other changes - obviously new chip, more RAM, upgraded camera. A shifting of the models w/ 32GB being the smallest and 128 the largest would be wishful thinking, probably nothing more, but a great surprise if it happened.

Because people around here don't want facts, they want to live in fantasyland until the real thing is released. Then they get to complain and cry 24/7 about how the released item doesn't measure up to their fantasy product. Duh.

If everything is in there as rumored, proves my personal Apple buying strategy.
NEVER buy the 1st gen of any Apple device (iphone)
MAYBE buy the 2nd or 3rd gen highest model if you need it (3 GS 32 GB)
BUY NEW when the specs are what you wanted in the first place. (Skipped 4 and got 4S)
BUY "OLD" used or refurbished as in 1 generation back, if price gap NEW to OLD is significant.
Always buy Apple care and switch after 3 years is over, so you always have a product in warranty.
Piece of mind and this has worked for me since learning what not to do 1984
Obviously, do what every works for "you", but to "me" this strategy is silly at least for iphones and ipads. Basically it means that for both the ipad and iphone you have missed out on at least 2 years, if not 3 of enjoyment of wonderful devices. Who cares if theyre not perfect? No tech product ever is and the next gen will ALWAYS have an "improvement"
I may not buy every iteration (skipped iphone 3 and 4S), but not enjoying both product lines since day 1 - to me - seems ridiculous.
I hope its not a crappy "s" upgrade. I skipped the ipad 1 then the ipad 2 seemed like a crappy "s" upgrade with tacked on cameras so I skipped that also. I've been using a family members ipad 1 though and it feels quite sluggish compared to my iphone 4. So hopefully this ipad 3 has 1gb ram.
Most would think adding a camera is not an S upgrade, but updating RAM would be an S upgrade. So you thought the iPad 2 was an S upgrade and doubling the RAM wouldn't be?
You mean that crappy S upgrade that broke all iPhone sales records? That one?
Sometime tech is evolutionary, and that's OK. Apple is running a business not a geek co-op.
i agree more than likely apple won't implement this. but never say never.
Imagine apple put a sensor (similar to the Proximity sensor on the iphone) in which when you go to hold the Ipad the edges of the screen turn dark bezel just arouns the edges give the the thinking that the user is holding it on the bezel and once hand off the bezel goes to show that lovely retina display in all its glory

Actually the design could work if there is a strap on the back, like a loop, put your hand through the loop and hold it like you have a plate on your hand.
But that's so NOT Apple.
For those people who want to know.
I actually down voted, not because I dislike the post itself, nicely done but for the fact I am on a slow capped internet connection and every time I refresh the page it takes time and bandwidth.
Another reason could be that people by themselves can access those pictures by just following a link.
That brings Me back to the former, is there a way to reload without actually load the whole page again.
It would be nice for Macrumors forums to auto update and only the new posts.

Sure... why not... at least until stock runs out.
Apple tends to move ahead, and not drag their old models unless there's a purpose for it.
Maybe Apple decides to allocate all iPad 2 stock to Educational Distribution Only.
It's always OK for Apples most ardent fans. Look there are people in here lining up to place pre-orders before Apple has even announced something.
You've got to look on with envy if you're one of Apple's competitors.Me too! My birthday is on March 9th. Last year the iPad came out on the 11th. Hopefully pre-orders will before the 9th, or an actual release!
The first full week of March starts on Sunday the 4th. So a March 6th, Tuesday announcement? Hopefully, it'll be the first week March starts, the week before, Thursday, March 1. Though, a Thursday or Friday would be unusual for an announcement. It has happened.
Really, it's been proven? I know myself and plenty others getting by just fine with 16gb....
