Well I am excited as the next guy but I want to see Apple confirming it. Recode sources, are they reliable? Not so sure.

And it's only going to have USB-C ports and nothing else. Not even a Magsafe 2 charger. I'm not sure I will upgrade to a new Mac in the coming years.

Let's see the products first.
+15% CPU performance and some OLED panel will not make me to buy the new macbook "pro"

Also. Just 4 USB-C o_O But why? And touch id ? But...:/ *sighs*. A touch ID on a phone is perfect but on a laptop I don't think it's so usefull and practical.

In terms of performance macbooks are doing just fine. Nobody in daily usage forces the processor at it's maximum power ,or the RAM memory. So I wouldn't be so hyped. But maybe Apple will make something really good. Who knows :D

Seems a simple $35 raspberry pi could very well provide more built-in connectivity options than the MBP.

Allowing you to use a Pi as the IO hub for your MacBook. I'm already using a Raspberry Pi 3 as the IO hub for my iPad. It's currently one of the few reliable ways to get bits of digital IO into Apple products, as none have parallel ports (as could be plugged into the slots of an Apple II).

I am so stoked! I have an almost 9 year old mac pro. Gave up on them ever releasing a new mac pro worth buying. Going to max out a Mac Book Pro the second I can.

Uh, no — They're Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports. I don't know about the others but there will be absolutely zero USB-A ports on the new Macs.

I bet you that AT LEAST the 15" pro will have a regular USB port.

Let all bare witness hither! Thine Apple shall include USB porteth on thine Macscroll box of wonders! Whosoever loseth thine test of grievance, hence forth, shalt be shackled and thrust within thine pillory, for no more than 3 suns and 3 moons. He who slayeth the contract ageed there-in, shalt face thine guillotine!

You honestly think they will do a USB C and USB A port on the same machine? You have to be kidding me. There is absolutely no way they will do that. Design atrocity.

On the 15" pr line, YES, absolutely. You think it may be an atrocity but millions would disagree with you. I guess we will find out who is right, soon.

Hallelujah! But I will reserve additional enthusiasm until I see what they release. Not gonna get excited about a $2500 port-neutuered pro laptop.
Tim Cook would like you to be excited. In fact, he'd like you to go ahead and buy one plus a new USB-C to lightening connector for your iPhone 7 and new iPad Pro 256 that will go along nicely with your Apple Watch Edition Series 2 that will notify you of any text messages you receive whilst streaming iTunes rentals to your Apple TV.

I don't think getting rid of the HDMI port is a good idea. I use mine all the time for plugging into external displays, TVs, and projectors. Literally everything works with HDMI. The other ports I could maybe leave behind if they include adapters in the box.

MacBookPro Retina, ya brought us Apple users back from having to use adapters in conference rooms for a few years since the Pismo and its standard VGA port left us over ten years prior. We hardly knew ya.:)

You just described the problem perfectly. Different people get different mileage out of the ports in their laptop. Some ports get used more, some are used less, and some ports don't even get used at all. There isn't this one array of ports which will make everyone happy.

You find the HDMI port indispensable. On the flip side might be a user who has never plugged in his laptop into an external display and will never find a reason to. This port becomes dead weight for him, and it's not I can reprovision it as another port of my choice.

Just as the ports you admittedly don't care about might be ports other people find indispensable.

In this context, why not replace the HDMI port with an extra USB C port? With an adaptor, it becomes the equivalent of a HDMI port for people who need it, and it's still an extra port for people who don't, to use as they deem fit.

17" please.
That would be great! My 17" is nearly 6 years old and I'd love a new 17". A Retina 17" would be a dream machine and set Apple apart from the rest if built properly. However, I think a 17" is a long way off - if ever.

My plan is to get a 15" (eventually, maybe sooner) and a Thunderbolt 3 dock and use the 2004 30" Apple Cinema HD Display (hopefully) as the main display. Or get a new large 4K/5K display depending on how the ACHD is working.

It would be simpler though to get a Retina 17"....then I wouldn't have to consider replacing the bluetooth card in there to use some of the new features....

Fingers crossed for a Mac mini
My mother loves heres. Honestly, with it's size and form factor they have the potential to make a really nice little powerhouse full of both legacy and new ports. Quad-Core and a nice mobile dGPU in the higher-tier option. Sadly though, I could see it either being ignored or upgraded to higher-clicked Core M since it has a fan.

A best though, I'm think dual-core i5 Skylake.

And AirPods! Don't forget the AirPods!
You know today I was standing outside of my car for like 30 seconds trying to unravel this tangled monstrosity that formed in my pocket with the EarPods. That happens constantly because I won't take the time to wrap them in that case. The AirPods will actually save me a decent amount of time and frustration.

EDIT: Typos
