Apple to Launch Personal Pickup for iPhone 5 Tonight

This might have already been asked and answered, but:
If a store gets their shipment during the day do they put those phones available for sale right away? And then whatever is left at the end of the day (if anything) gets put up for reservation overnight?

Ok... so night three of three... fingers crossed. 1.5 hours to go..
(calling the stores here does no good. are not selling to walk-ins, only reservation. and they don't seem thrilled about answering calls, waited 40 minutes on hold for them to get through 7 callers ahead of me)

From what I gathered when talking to a specialist, he said that the inventory that they get on that day is for the people who reserved the night before. And if there aren't any reservations, they will release to walk-ins for the day.
They must have some way of knowing what will arrive in the morning so that they can update their inventory page by 10PM local time.

I really regret waiting for my friend to go to an Apple store.. Was 10 minutes late before the last white 32gb AT&T sold out.
Tonight and last night I was able to check for store availability before 10:00PM local time. I live in Arizona which is on MST. Interestingly I was even able to check store availability tonight before 10:00PM EST. I've had no luck so far. Even if the search option becomes available before 10:00 local time does the system not update until that time? Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks!
You can check the stores at any time actually, but they won't be updated until after 10PM local time. Last night I was looking at both Arizona and SoCal stores before 10PM, they all showed "unavailable". But after 10PM a few of the SoCal stores were showing "in stock" but AZ stayed "unavailable".
Thanks for your input! In my experience during most of day the store pickup option can't be selected with an message saying "Store Pickup Option Unavailable at this Time" or something of that nature. That's why I'm confused!
Just order black iphone 5 AT&T 16GB. I'll be picking it up at the Fashion Valley Apple store in San Diego. I live in Vista, CA.

I'm here in Hawaii as well. I actually went to the mall this morning to try my luck, and apparently the last two nights and it seems like tonight as well, the site isn't working for them. I asked the employee. What's funny is that, right after he told me to reserve between 10 and 4, he added that the site isn't working... Apple was clearly not prepared for this, not one bit
