How much you wanna bet that there is no wireless access for the audience at the event? After the network catastrophe at WWDC, Apple is going to control their environment to ensure a good show. And after all the irresponsible press they've been getting lately, they want to control the message being sent to the public, by broadcasting the even themselves.

can i stream this on a pc at all ?
Don't you want me to cross over to the dark side ?

"Viewing requires either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard."

so then your answer is yes. as long as you pc is running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6

I agree, I really don't think the iPod Touch is getting two cameras. They probably figure that most people have cameras on their cell phones that take pictures. I think we're only going to see a front facing camera (for Facetime and Apps).

I'd be shocked if they show off an iPod with a back camera tomorrow. :)

Maybe I'm wrong, we'll all know the truth tomorrow! Can't wait.

Idk, IMO one of the "cool" features of facetime on the iPhone 4 is the ability to "flip" over to the other camera so that you can show the person you're talking to where you are. If the new touch has a form factor similar to the iPhone 4 (that is being a squared off design) then I don't see why they can't add a rear camera.

For everyone saying "this is so the wi-fi is freed up" do you really think that the bloggers who are already coming to this thing, will not still be blogging live?

I can just see the meeting at Macworld now.

Chris Breen: Well, since Apple's going to be covering it, I just will take notes but deliver my impressions later.
Chris Breen's boss: Oh, yeah, good idea! Do that! Don't bother covering the huge story as it's happening!

I'm sure audiences will be down (50%, perhaps?) but the wi-fi in the room will be as busy as ever.

Not just that but this is not WWDC where you have 5,000 people in attendance, it's a small event with limited space/invites. There is just no chance of the same scenario happening anyway even if Apple didn't do the live stream.

YES! I hate having to read 'liveblogs' but didn't have much of a choice until now.

Frankly I'm kinda surprised, just figured Apple likes to edit their stuff (if needed) before putting them up and that was that, and now comes this.

I was just googling earlier today to see if some nefarious soul was going to livestream this thing to no avail :D

Wow.

I hope the Apple servers survive the crush tomorrow.

If I could +1 you I would...

So THIS is what the servers in NC are for...

Thats a good question, is the NC server plant finished? I don't think there current ones can handle all the traffic...

The X-serves tomorrow will be running at like 900°s. 100% maxed out with over 5 million people watching the event... Do they realize how many people watch?

Apple's and AT&Ts servers crashed just from people ordering the iPhone, with ten times the traffic there will be problems. I do recommend keeping the mac rumors live blog and another (engadget) open just in case. As soon as they say iTunes in the cloud (or other big announcement) every site will be going down.

Something huuuuuuggggggeeee must be getting announced tomorrow.

I am kind of thinking a new product will be released, not just a updated product.

Can we change the title of this thread? At first glance it reads "Apple to livestream its fail event".

But wasn't the spotty connection because Steve was holding it wrong?

nope, it does not update; it never listed when i try to update through software update ...

if I copy from macbook and paste it over iMac will it work? (copying Quicktime X and then pasting)

no that doesn't update all the other stuff that needs updates...
reinstall the latest Mac os update from apple.com/support, choose combo update and then if it still isn't ok and software updates is still empty install QuickTime from there too or apple.com/quicktime

good luck ;)

kinda worried to do an combo update; other than the quick time problem this is fairly clean machine; will wait out and see if tomorrow's iTunes update solves anything.

gotta watch live event on macbook + external monitor.

Wow, amazing! No more waiting in the spoiler-free threads for hours. R.I.P. spoiler-free threads. It's kind of lame how it requires Snow Leopard since I've been too lazy to install it after purchasing it. I'll probably watch from my iPad, though. This is really great! I'll actually be at home during the keynote. Hopefully this means that for other keynotes, we'll only have to wait an hour at the most for the video to be up because I usually won't be able to watch the keynote when it's being broadcast.

Not good time for us in Australia :( 3AM for Sydney. I am an Apple fan but not that much.

I am intrigued by the timing - 10AM. I guess that gives various reporting groups the chance to get the message out later in the day but doesn't exactly maxmise potential viewers. In the UK it is early evening/news/dinner time and the same for mainland Europe

Now if it had been 12noon Cupertino time then I would just have had to get up 1/2 and hour earlier than normal...
