I agree with the other guy. White things in your ear looks douchey. No one ever wore white earrings. Skin colour would look like a hearing aid. Black or space grey are the only options, aside from gradually shrinking the device. I’m sure there are douchey gyms across the globe, but this doesn’t affect my opinion. It’s really difficult to take your opinion seriously, especially when you’re referring to the AirPods as you do. Let me tell you, I’m in the gym five days a week, I live in a fairly large city, and I see the AirPods _all_ the time in public, and they don’t look anything like you’re describing them as, and I think generally, consumers don’t care what some Else chooses to wear for earbuds.
how about matte black, that'd be nice. white just sticks out like a sore thumb.
Better sound would be something I’d want. It’s rumored to have some sort of health features, which I couldn’t care less about. I’d rather have better sound. That’s what the rumor is based on, clearly there could potentially be more features/capabilities than when what was discussed. That said, what else are you expecting? I think the first Gen AirPods were executes so well, second Gen AirPods really Don’t need major improvements, water resistance would be a nice add-on.
The black will be the same price.I think a price increase is a certainty with new technologies and coating techniques. The current price is an absolute bargain versus the competition, so Apple has a lot of room for price growth while continuing to have the market leading product. $199 would still be very cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if it's nearer to $249.
I think his/her idea is that if they sell out now they don’t need to expand the appeal. Not sure what one has to do with the other, but okay...
This is true. As a designer and artist who studied color theory for years, black is seen as only slightly more masculine by men. Darker neutral tones, blues and reds are what are considered "masculine."No it’s not. That’s wannabe’s talk.
Unfortunately for me, the ear pods fall off from my ears. I tried every gimmick including attaching after market pod covers, band aid etc., to increase size of the pod.

Loving my matte black ones. Not painted by Apple, natch, but the color is fantastic.not a fan of the black, but space gray... maybe![]()
Doubt enhanced grip will solve that. I have the same problem and have tried all the aftermarket solutions. They need to either be bigger or to support replaceable silicone tips.Same problem. Not clear if the pods themselves will have the enhanced grip or just the case. I’ve read articles elsewhere (sorry M/R) that it’s just the case with the new coating
Less obvious or doucheyBlack colour would be great - more masculine.
AirPods do all of those things except USB-C and cost way less.No thanks. Will stick to my Louis Vuitton earphones.... has USB-C, zero lag for videos, connects upon opening, pauses when removed.
… I think people are entirely too hung up on the appearance of these things. As @AngerDanger illustrated in the before times, the Airpods basically look exactly like EarPods with the wire removed.
Has hell frozen over? Apple very rarely releases stuff in black, although they have done more recently (like the Mac mini and iMac Pro)
of course I'm taking into account the fact, that AirPods only work with multiple devices in Apple's ecosystem)
