They aren’t going to delay shipping the phone. So it needed to ship with what they had finished.Interesting that they'd even bother shipping iOS 13.0 at all on non-11 iPhones if 13.1 is coming just 11 days later.

iOS 13 will be a disaster. iOS 11 all over again. Mark my words.
Not sure how an almost-trillion dollar company managed not to have the software ready in time. I would have thought Apple would thrown as many devs at the issues as needed to get things done in time.

Apparently never. We were supposed to know that beta 8 was the GM 3 weeks ago, somehow. What a joke.So when do devs get it? They need to polish their stuff with their apps.
What! Why not hold back 13.0 and just release 13.1? There is no point in releasing 13.0 if it already has known issues that are fixed.
Yes, it will, and I called it back during beta 2. It was already evident at that time.iOS 13 will be a disaster. iOS 11 all over again. Mark my words.

There is however such a thing as standards and acceptable quality, and Apple has plummeted, plummeted in this department in recent years. Pretty sure I know why too. There's no such thing as a massive piece of software that doesn't have known issues.
I told you guys that iOS/iPadOS was especially buggy this year and I was worried about things being delayed. People told me to just wait until launch. Well, launch is here and it's delayed a bit. They probably put all the effort into making sure iOS, their golden child on the iPhone was running better and then will patch up iPadOS which surely shares at least 90% of the same code. Even so, last year iOS 12 was released the Monday after the keynote, and this one is the Thursday after, so even iOS is a little bit delayed.September 30th for ipados! What the hell!

hmmm GM used to be released earlier than the official public release date.

Well, one pundit has theorized (and he's pretty convincing) that 13.0 was frozen to have something to load onto the new phones, so they can ship out ahead of the tariffs. Then 13.1 will be sitting there, available on delivery.
