the wait is most likely becasue of verizon getting the iphone off the normal att cycle. it would be easier to have att costumers wait (on something that doesnt exsist) than launch a device for att and let verizon wait.
Let me guess - you buy based upon specs?
A bigger screen, faster processor (cycle time specific) and "open" system make the SGS2 better than the yet unreleased and un-spec'd iPhone?
I can't wait for the day when HTC, Samsung, Moto, etc start producing upgradable box phones, so that the freaky tech guys can build their own "monster" smart phone with fan cooled, led lit, internals that require really cool supplemental backpack battery systems, giant 15" screens and full sized keyboards that you wear around your neck.
God, that will be cool.
isn't that what the rumors are claiming they are doing, pretty much? lets get real, an a5 and a 8mp camera are things that nobody really needs or cares about.
But what about the ROUS's? Rumors of Unexceptional Screensize? I don't believe they exist...
You can always get the 4s and sell it after a year and then buy the next gen out of contract. you should only be spending a couple of hundred bucks which is what you would have spent renewing your contract anyways.

Different phones for different folks. You want to sacrifice battery life and portability for screen size, you want to sacrifice form factor and battery life for microSD. So, have fun with your new phone. It's no iPhone.
I really don't want a redesign. My contract lasts another year and I'll just want this phone more.

If that is the case it will be a very dull day, and I am sure this will hurt Apple as many folks held out buying a new phone in hopes that Apple has some new full featured phone up their sleeves. I will stick with my iPhone 4, not worth the headache to sell it and buy a new one only for minor changes.

Screen size is not a hardware difference. It's a spec bump at best. microSD card slot is one though.
