Container an impromptu and supposed invention be "hindered".
At what time I ongoing hearing reports of a 4.7 and 5.7 inch iPhone approaching with the iPhone 6, the innovative story was that the 5.7 incher would be approaching later. So if it organizes come later (whether as 5.7 or 5.5 inches) remained it delayed, or was that the plan all lengthwise?
The individual thing aimed at unquestionable is that Apple isn't conversation about forthcoming plans, so this is all unsubstantiated speculation by forecasters who are paid to deduction, and collect retributions whether they're right or not.

Yeaaa it's going to be delayed, along with the full-size iPad, the TV, the Watch, OSX, Pro Apps, and everything else that'd be worth talking about.

Delayed til Google & Samsung come out with it all first.

Google and Samsung already make phones with screens larger than the iPhone.

The problem is that I don't want Apple listening to its customers and giving them exactly what they want. I'm serious. Leave that crap to Google. Apple is here to give us what we didn't know we wanted or never even dreamed of.

Apple fanboys didn't know they wanted a 4 inch screen until it came, before that 3.5 as "perfect". Now 4 inch is "perfect" to them.

I guarantee people will love 4.7 and even 5.5 when they feel an iPhone of that size in their hands.

I think this site attracts a horde of Samsung Android users. These are the people that want a big screen iPhone. I think they like the idea of throwing a monkey wrench into Steve Jobs vision. They want oversized phones, they want phones with SD slots, and on and on and on.
God forbid a company listens to what consumers want

I'm looking forward to a larger screen. Ideally I'd like to hold both to see which I prefer, but the 5.5" size sounds terrific.

I've posted many times that I'm all for the 5.5 screen. Keep bezels minimal and it's really not THAT big.

Anyways, for everybody saying 4.7 is the ideal size to get, you need to back up and think back to the S3. When that came out people were yelling about how its a phablet and its way too big, almost like an ipad (dont remember if ipad mini existed at the time). And now it's a good size because you've been exposed to the bigger screen, though you may be pigeon holing your choice because of your pocket size vs overall experience, you know in the back of your mind that extra screen estate is pretty nice to have. Not telling you guys to suddenly demand 10 inch phones but you really need to lay off all the intense hate towards bigger phones. You might find yourself owning a 5.5 device in the future, however long it takes.

The 4.7" iPhone will be nice, but I am interested to see what they add to take advantage of the 5.5" if true. If they just add more icons, it will be a fail. They should add some extra features to take advantage of the larger screen size like samsung did with their note line.

----------

I actually think this is a better size. 5,5" would bring it too close to the ipad mini.

5.5 would still be nowhere near the iPad mini in terms of size.

----------

"Delayed" is code for "doesn't exist"

Delayed is code for "we are still months out, so we need to drum up the hype to get people to love it and hate it, while also saying that this is a long time coming/the current size is perfect, that way when apple unveils it, suddenly it becomes magical and everyone forgets that every other OS has had larger screened devices for years. But it is ok because the iPhone 6 was made from unicorn tears, so it trumps any and all" :D:D

There will be hate until apple makes it larger. Same thing when the 5 came out and everyone said "we don't need larger 3.5 is perfect, then a few months in and everyone was like wow how did we live with such a small screen for so long" the same will happen with the iPhone 6 if it has a 4.7 screen. Apple isn't going to make it unwieldy after they made all those commercials about one handed use, and bashed android for it (or lack thereof)

I can't really agree with the "once you've been exposed to a bigger screen, you won't go back to a smaller screen, no question" sentiment prevalent in this thread. I've used a wide range of smartphone displays from 2.8" to 6.4" and I found the 3.5-3.8" to be the ideal size for my usage, much more than the 4.7" phone I used and certainly more than the 6.4" phone I've used.

IF Apple were going to introduce a 5.5-inch display and IF it were delayed ... why not just wait until the regular time late 2015 to introduce it? IF that variant was delayed it would miss not only the US but the Chinese holiday seasons so introducing it a couple months later would be pointless. Better to wait another 6 months.

And won't first 64-bit Android phones be a total trainwreck?

It seems to me Apple is about to benefit in a couple of years from a totally predictable trainwreck that is about to occur to the first 64-bit Android phones. What exactly is the precedent for any sort of smooth upgrade path to exist for such a phone from running a 32-bit OS to running 64-bit OS? It makes more sense to say to the people who buy the first 64-bit Android phones that they'll never get the 64-bit capabilities actually activated since they weren't when they first bought the phone.

That's another reason for Apple to hold off on a 5.5-inch display. Let the Android 64-bit trainwreck occur then introduce the 5.5-inch display.

Looking at the scaled mock-ups and comparing it to my current 5's screen, a 4.7" screen seems hardly anything to get excited over.

I wonder why its "delayed" .. not that i don't need any guesses.

Lets NOT bring out the 5.5 eh ?

For some reason Android users don't mind it so much.. But in the Apple eco-system, i find allot more people hate bigger phones.

Why is that ? Maybe because it would ruin the that lovely iphone, or maybie it could be Android users don't really care to the extent Apple users do, so the bigger the better ? *shrugs*

I have not used an iphone regularly since the ip4 as i am loving the Android platform but a 4.7" iPhone would perhaps spark my interest, if Apple ever pissed off the compulsory Itunes sync.

They just shouldn't, never ever make a 5.5" phone. Note 2 and 3 already look disgustingly huge. It looks funny and ugly. It's just not necessary. Plus, the rounded edges, screen size getting bigger etc will all be interpreted as Apple copying and following Samsung. Apple should be at its own game, shouldn't follow Android or Samsung. Please Apple! Don't mind the Android fans and continue at your own standards. Don't Samsung-ify. Don't lose what makes you special (uniqueness) and don't make Steve Jobs roll in his grave.

Unlike many other people, I don't want to lose my faith in Apple just yet, not until I see the much rumoured smart watch and the supposed revolution it will bring. However, I don't wanna use anything other than Apple products, I hate Android and I don't Apple ruining it for themselves.

But then again I'm being too pessimistic.

So I'm curious, if Apple does release a 4.7" in September/October how many people will hold off buying it hoping the unconfirmed 5.5" will come along at some point?

I'd prefer the 5.5" but if there's no confirmation or release date when the 4.7" is launched I'll probably just go with that.

I'm conflicted. I was late to join the iPhone fan base. My first iPhone was the 3GS. I was switching from BlackBerry. When I switched, I was trying it out. I was pretty sure that I'd miss a real keyboard and a joystick device. It didn't take long and I was hooked. I moved up to the 4S thinking it was the best iPhone ever. It just couldn't get any better. Now, I'm using a 5S and have reservations about the screen size.

Let me be honest, I'm going to love it. Why? Because Apple is going to do a lot of research to figure out how to make me love it. Adding another row of apps was just part of it. Adding fingerprint scanner so I didn't have to swipe to enter, genius. The improved camera? That sold it.

I can't wait to see what comes on the iPhone 6. It won't just be a bigger screen. It's going to be a bigger screen AND….

4.7 inch screen

Wow, oh Wow, .7 inches longer.....my heart be still. How amazing is that....

.7 inches longer.....thats astounding....and REALLY STUPID AND SILLY:p

But if those loud and whiny blowhards buy the larger iPhone... and like it... then what's the problem?

I admire Steve Jobs and his many visions... but I think he's wrong about this one.

Well, i think he was going for the width of the cell phone being ideal, which is likely based on research having to do with what the average hand size is in the US and the most comfortable width to carry given that size. That doesn't necessarily equate to screen size. If they reduce the bezel, that gives them up to 5mm to work with in width. If they challenge the assumption that 59mm is the most comfortable width, and increase it to 68mm (4.7" 1080p on the HTC One), i doubt many people would complain. The bezel on an HTC one is about 5mm also, so if you knock 4mm off that you could potentially a have a screen that is substantially larger with adding only 6mm to the width, or 4mm if you compare it to the original iphone which was 61mm. :D

. Apple should be at its own game, shouldn't follow Android or Samsung. Please Apple! Don't mind the Android fans and continue at your own standards. Don't Samsung-ify.

Erm.. sorry to burst your bubble but every single NEW feature for the last 3 years bar 64 bit which is useless with only a gig of ram existed on android phones first.. EPIC FAIL

Piper Jaffray's Munster says investors have low expectations for the Apple iPhone 6

Piper-Jaffrays-Munster-says-investors-have-low-expectations-for-the-Apple-iPhone-6.jpg

Four times a year, every three months, Apple announces its earnings for the previous quarter. With the tech titan expected next month to tell the world how many iPhones it sold over the prior three months, at least one analyst sees good news for stockholders in the near future. Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray, a name quite familiar with our readers, expects Apple to raise its dividend on April 23rd, when the numbers are released. At the same, the analyst sees Apple increasing the number of shares being repurchased by the company. Both moves are considered positive for stockholders, although Munster cautions potential Apple investors that the current stock price already has the dividend hike and higher share buyback already baked in.

Munster believes that Apple's revenue for the March quarter will be on the high side of the company's expectations at $43.5 billion. Apple said that this figure would be between $42 billion and $44 billion. He sees the top line number falling short in the June quarter, but he says that no one will care as they look ahead to Apple's new products to be released in the second half of the year. But this is where Munster's expectations diverge with those of Wall Street investors.

The analyst says that his meetings with Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds and well-heeled investors, have shown him that these big buyers of Apple's stock have low sales expectations for the Apple iPhone 6, and new product categories (like an Apple iWatch). Munster thinks that this thinking is all wrong, but does present a great situation for Apple investors. If the next-gen iPhone, with a possible 4.7 inch screen, takes sales away from large-screened Android models, or the iWatch becomes a hit, Apple's shares should react bullishly. And the worse case scenario, says Munster, is that sales of Apple's next-gen iPhone merely meet expectations, and the stock remains flat.
