I didn’t disagree with your opinion. Nor did I advocate for forcing anyone to do anything with their body they don’t see fit, so your response is a little perplexing.
It’s almost like me, explaining my position and though process on why I chose to do with my body what I did bothers you.
If you want or don’t want to get the vaccine, that’s your decision. I don’t believe people should be forced to. I believe that is fundamentally wrong.
But, I also believe that at this point, the Covid vaccine is one of the most widely distributed pharmaceutical products in recent history, the side effects are minimal, and the benefits far outweigh the potential downside.
Everyone’s circumstances and reasoning is different. If you feel as though my reasoning is not sound, that’s fine. Your decision is your decision. I respect that.
I’m also in a position where I’m a first responder and deal with disaffected populations on a routine basis. Those people typically are vaccine hesitant and have limited access to health care, where I have excellent access to health care and am under the continuing care of some of the best physicians in the country for several pre existing conditions.
I got into this line of work to do good. Not to do harm and certainly not to get rich. I considered it part of my vocation to do everything I could to be the best protector I can be of others. To me, part of that was getting the vaccine. I also got it for personal reasons.
You do you. I believe it’s one of the fundamental rights of human beings to do as they chose so long as it doesn’t effect others.
But don’t expect me to respect your decision to do as you choose with your body, if you don’t respect mine…
