COVID needs to be treated like AIDS. If you knowingly infect someone with Covid because of your selfishness in refusing to get the vaccine you should be brought up on charges and face jail time

Umm NO
Why do folks not get it, The science is not settled. Yes it seems good and seems the risk is small for side effects but TIME will tell. It should be a personal choice nothing more get the vax don't get the vax its not anyone but the individuals choice and info!!!
Choices have consequences. The virus doesn’t discriminate - it doesn’t know whether you believe in it or not. If you choose not to get the vaccination, then you should be excluded from public events and public places. Not to punish you, but because you present a very real risk to others.

If you choose not to get the vaccination, you will find increasing limits on where you can go. These are the consequences of your choice.

If someone were to say, “well, I choose to drink and drive, and that’s my choice and you should respect it”, how well do you think that would work? You get to choose to drink OR drive, and if you do both at the same time, you are likely to end up in jail.

You're a joke lol

I haven't seen all the details, but requiring tests for vaccinated people (for corporate employees) is ridiculous. The vaccination rate in Cupertino among Apple employees is surely 80-90%. Even mask should not be required according to the FDA, as the Bay Area is NOT a Covid hotspot. Yet we have a paranoid local government that mandated wearing masks indoors (based on misleading data what were purported to show that vaccinated people spread the virus at the same rate as unvaccinated ones--that's FALSE). Let's stop with paranoia, follow science, and get on with our lives without being bothered by Covid. Unvaccinated retail employees should be tested weekly. Reality check: Last year, more people in SF died of overdose than Covid.

New York City tried this where we tried to get on with our lives last year around December 2020. Then boom... a massive surge in infections. The science says to still play defensive and play to the best probability within reason. It's possible to have covid in between tests, and an infected unvaccinated will have higher risks of serious illness.

I'm not saying I agree with Apple, but I certainly understand the purpose of their stance.

I don’t give a **** about your liberty. The fact you are willing to risk other people’s life means you don’t deserve any liberty or freedom.

In fact, I think the sole reason that COVID is out of control in United State is because your so called liberty.

People who willing ignore science, refuse to follow public health measure, refuse get vaccine do not deserve freedom and liberty.

Vaccine mandate and vaccine passport cannot come soon enough. Eventually, people like you will have no where to go. This can’t come soon enough.
Yikes. I am vaccinated and a staunch supporter of vaccines. I believe in them as the hope for getting us out of this nightmare so much that I (and my family) have donated a considerable amount of money to help other people get vaccinated, here and abroad. And I certainly agree with what you said about the unvaccinated causing catastrophic problems with health care access. I’ve seen it firsthand when a family member needed emergency care. We have terrible problems we must face together as a nation.

But we hold that liberty isn’t something that’s granted or removed by man. It’s our birthright. Our Bill of rights does not “give” us anything. It’s an affirmation of what we believe we have at birth, and we fought a war that split our country in two to extend that affirmation to the people we enslaved and subjugated.

I will not support this becoming a “Your papers, please” country. The unvaccinated are not to be rounded up like cattle, and sent to an island/interment camp. We did that crap with Japanese Americans because we thought there was this big danger from them and it was morally and ethically wrong and a huge dump on our Constitution and can’t be allowed to ever happen again.

We give up due process of law, we give up our rights, then there is nothing worth living for in this country.

The unvaccinated are human beings and our fellow countrymen. The fact we’re divided into an us vs them mindset that would even suggest a “solution” such as you’ve proposed (on an earlier post I didn’t quote), even just out of very understandable and relatable frustration, just proves the point about some of the fears they’re voicing about where this crisis could lead our country.

We can do better than this. I think Apple is trying and they are trying to bring mutual respect to the table and that’s not a bad example to set and to follow.

Sure, let me know when a new study reveals that gravity doesn't exist.

There is an unbelievable amount of debate amongst astrophysicists as to what “gravity” actually is and how it works.......The smartest people are constantly questioning the settled science. You should as well! You might learn something...

Relating this point to the vaccines....There is valid science behind the vaccines. However, this science should not be understood as comprehensive. Aka “we don’t know what we don’t know”.

I think Apple employees are smart enough to get vaccinated, and that Apple shouldn’t turn down the slippery slope of a mandate. While a mandate may make sense for now, it could uncover an ugly side of humanity if applied wrongly in the future.

That being said, I waffle between agreeing with Apple’s position, and wishing that vaccinations became forced upon the populous at the end of a gun if needed. I blame that extreme on the thought exercise outlined in the preceding paragraph.

Way to entice people into getting vaccinated. Just do non-stop annoying tests on them lol

I've just thrown up my arms in the air on this. I was vaccinated because I was told we can start removing masks mandates and so forth. Then they brought that stuff back in certain areas blaming the unvaccinated as if I'm supposed to care that they keep themselves at risk of bad infection. If they have their reasons, stupid or not, just leave them be.

At this point if they recommend me to get a 3rd shot, I'm not doing it. We keep getting the goalposts moved on this. Enough of the Wuhan Virus.

This is where I’m at. I’m an early COVID survivor (it’s pretty much the flu with a few surprises), and vaccinated.

If you don’t want to get vaxxed, then fine by me. But I’m done worrying about unvaccinated people if they get sick.

I’m f’ing done with masks too (unless unlikely public transportation), and I’m not getting boosters in the short term. You’re welcome to get as many boosters or wear as many masks as you please. Save the seatbelt analogy. It’s not the same thing.

We’re all going to get COVID at some point eventually........... be smart and minimize your eventual illness and get inoculated. I already had my time in the barrel. It sucked, but it’s not that big of a deal. And supposedly sharply less of a problem for breakthrough infections.

If you don’t want to get vaccinated, stay at home and order everything to be delivered!!

they deliver groceries, Costco delivers… you do not need to go out if you don’t want to be vaccinated.

there are jobs you can work from home with and there are teledocs as well as companies that will deliver medicine.

you can see love ones via zoom, webex or FaceTime and doctors can even make house calls.

you can absolutely stay unvaccinated by staying indoors.

don’t like it? Get vaccinated.

Yup, hear this all the time, and it's WRONG.

Being vaccinated is NOT a personal choice when it involves an invisible virus that can KILL someone else. By not getting vaccinated, you're deciding someone else's fate, not your own.

Ugh, what a weird world we live in.

P.S. The science is solid. The mRNA vaccines do nothing to affect one's DNA. Zero, zip. This is proven.

I’m still waiting for the common cold and flu and pneumonia to show back up. Maybe COVID has cured them all?

Here in California, Newsom's predecessor, and fellow progressive Democrat, Jerry Brown, de-felonized the intentional transmission of AIDS in 2017.

So if knowing you have AIDS and then intentionally giving it to someone else, without telling them your status before, is A-OK with Democrats, they've long lost any moral or ethical high ground to talk about health or responsibility.

“I don’t trust the government to take a vaccin as long as it’s not approved by the FDA.

FDA… also being the government. ”

Meanwhile my country is opening up again after most have been vaccinated. Masks are no longer required and we get back to normal.

Early treatment is outlawed, two shots of vaccine is the only option for people above 50 with multiple illnesses.

Oh... and there's also the little problem that the actual microscopy capabilities are imprecise at the scale required to even observe both AIDS and Covid. Good luck developing a reliable exposure tracking system, without humanity even having any reliable detection method. For covid and related virology, humans can't make any reliable objective scientific measurement.

But keep watching TV and TV political drama, I'm sure the answer is in there somewhere.

Time has already told. The science is settled. Just admit that you're more scared of a shot than is a toddler who needs his lollipop. Choosing not to get vaccinated is simply selfishness.
It takes several decades to observe the lifelong effects of any medical treatment. Traditional vaccines have withstood that trial, but there's new technology involved here. Just be honest that it has a risk, but that the risk is far lower than covid19 as far as we know.

I got the vaccine myself cause of what I said about the risk of covid19, but dang, with attitudes like yours I can't blame other people for not trusting the vaccine. And they have the freedom to refuse.

It’s weird the US prefers to stay in this situation.
In the US, the federal govt can't just forcibly inoculate people, and state/local govts can but face a lot of resistance. Private companies can impose requirements but open themselves up to lawsuits over labor laws. Like with any freedom, there are obvious disadvantages, but the line is drawn. People have to be convinced to take the vaccine, not forced, and insulting them (like some people here are keen on) does way more harm than good.

Unfortunately we're getting the worst of both worlds because people have the freedom to refuse the vaccine but are constantly being threatened for it, making them not trust it. If it's part of the either major party's platform (Dem), that's a surefire way to ensure a large number of people avoid the shot.

Except that's the very definition of vaccine - A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease.

Oh wait, that was the CDC's definition before COVID. Follow the science...
Oh where oh, where has the flu (corona) virus gone ,
Oh where, oh where could it be 🎼 🎶?
