1. i figure they will go all out, hence perfect time to introduce mountain lion
and (introduction is not the same as a release for those who don't know)
2. i suspect at least three macs to be updated if not all, cause alot of them are out of date
3. in terms of macbook pro the display is fine as is has anyone ever had a problem with the display? i know people want better but has anyone ever had a major issue with the display, unlikely,
i would prefer quad core over retina anyday, retina doesn't do much, so you can see a bit clearer who cares i prefer performance, although i suspect the 13' won't get quad core, maybe on the high end 13' im hoping for that miracle
I'd be happy without a cd drive and anyone who wants old tech feel free to use adaptors
4. they will definately use usb 3.0 think about it how else will you charge your ipod, ipad and other apple devices, so you figure they must at least still use usb 3.0 but then the macbooks won't be so special anymore since most new laptops at those prices have at least 1 usb 3.0, so im definately counting on usb 3.0
dual thunderbolt ports, i doubt it if thunderbolt is as fast as it claims 1 should be sufice, plus im sure those use speed ports would add to the price, im pretty confident they will only have 1
5. in terms of release remeber usually there are pics and shipment dates floating around the net when they are released, maybe they will be announced but not released, i figure July to be a safe bet, introduced in June released in July hopefully with mountain lion installed on it
6. also i hope they still have bootcamp support with ML, thats it, any comments or rebuttles feel free to post
Interesting thoughts. Re 3: actually, the displays are one reason I never went Mac before even though I was really intrigued and wanted to like Macs. The current hi res 15" and 17" matte are pretty good. Everything else is only for people who surf the web and do some basic productivity task. For photo editing, audio recording software and even large spreadsheets I find that the regular MacBook Pros don't offer enough real estate. And I really hope that the retina displays don't make this worse/offer no improvement - especially if the high res 15 and 17 inch go away with that.
The other issue that keeps PC users out is the gap between the Mini and the Mac Pro. The mini's specs don't quite cut it. The Mac Pro is too expensive. And the iMacs as all-in-one machines with a not so great screens don't fill that gap for people who are looking for powerful machines for the applications I mentioned. So it'll be very interesting to see what Apple will do for non-Apple aficionados this time - if anything. Would be a great opportunity given the ludicrous looking Win 8 pre-release.
