I agree that Office offers more function than iWork. However, the new ribbon theme just seems like Microsoft dumbed down it's product to the lowest common denominator. To me, Office '11 feels more like a toy.

Can iWork even do web queries? simple things like mail merges from outlook, date pickers or drop down lists inside of documents? Even formatting gets screwed up when converting document formats. From what I've seen of Pages, it resembles Publisher more than it does Word.

The things you've highlighted are mostly done in excel. My point is what does word do over pages to make it a real business tool. Apart from crash a lot! Theres room for both.

Sorry I don't check back every 2 seconds. I actually have work to do.

Well do it then:rolleyes:, I'm sure your bosses won't appreciate you going on this forum in work time. Probably whats holding you back from a promotion ;)

Word and Pages are equal? Lol maybe the mac version of word-- are you kidding me

Numbers v Excel is a pisstake comparison.

P.s. when people speak of MS Enterprise software they are not only speaking Office or Windows ffs.

For example, have you ever heard of this massively uptaking platform called SharePoint for instance??? May want to check. if youre company is not on it and of a decent size, they probably have plans to migrate in the very near future. How about SQL Server, Visual Studio, Dynamics? I suppose theres some iVersions of all these just waiting to be deployed

Please tell me you are being sarcastic?

Apple's quarterly revenue has surpassed Microsoft's for the first time in 15 years.

I jettisoned 3000 (6000 factoring in the 2005 split) shares just months before the iPod came out.

If you'll excuse me I have to go paint the ceiling, so to speak.

Just out of curiosity... can you explain? It is a deep thought and I'm sure that there is a lot of thinking behind this statement. I just want to be enlightened.

Did you really say that Microsoft are more innovative than Apple because they are spending more on R&D?

It looks like he listened to my advice. :D

End of debate. Now back to this monumental achievement for Apple.

microsoft FAIL
:D

Making a BILLION dollars more in profit in the same quarter is such a fail. Man I wish I failed that hard.

If only I could fail and make a BILLION more dollars then the guy that is so 'successful'.
Where do you people come up with this stuff and why??

Do people often note that you don't have a sense of humour? ;)

No, I didn't say it. I asked whether that was the case if MS had a larger R&D budget. I was making a point by asking.

Now that is FAIL, if its true.

They would be worth nearly $2m now

While revenue is only one measure of the size of a company and Microsoft's high profit margins achievable through its primary focus on software mean that it still generates more profit than Apple, today's news offers yet another sign of Apple's resurgence over the past decade.

In other words, MS charges way more than it should for its software. I hate companies that screw their customers simply because they can. Companies like ATT, MS, and American Airlines. Blockbuster used to do that with those freaking late fees, so I'm happy that company is in chapter 11. Sorry for all those employees, but your company sucks (well sucked since they're almost gone).

Equal? Have you tried using Pages for anything other then home work and the "family newsletters" Apple is trying to convince us people are sending?

Sorry but for any serious scientific work Pages just doesn't cut it, it's a toy.

As the saying goes, A bad workman always blames his tools!

Yeah ok.

You really think all these MS DIE and FAIL is for laughs?? Really? It's more of a delusional thing, that they can't or don't comprehend the actual article they are commenting on.
It's damn annoying and makes people that enjoy Apple products look like morons.
