Ordered at 7am eat tuesday morning and went to preparing for shipment last night
I'd guess he's referring to tracking via reference on UPS or fedex to find the tracking number before apple gives it to you.

Seeing preparing for shipping, so there is hope I may get this in my hands Friday. I did pop for overnight shipping.

I got the confirmation email for my order at 6:54AM PDT on Monday and yet my order is still shown as "Processing Items." So, after 48 hours there has been no change in the status which leads me to believe that Apple still doesn't have any Apple TVs that are ready to ship. Given that possibility I'm predicting that at best the units will start to ship this coming Friday which means that some of them may arrive this weekend if you payed for the priority over night shipping. Otherwise, early next week seems the likely start to actual deliveries. This would also be somewhat consistent with the announcement that Best Buy will have stock on Nov 4 (next Wednesday).

32gb Apple TV ordered in UK with email received on Monday at 12:51pm. Still showing as Processing.
It's not at all unusual for Apple orders to show no movement, then within the space of minutes, jump through all the stages right up to dispatched.
It's happened with my iPhone orders in the past and (although maybe different) happened with my Apple TV Dev Kit.
all depends on the carrier mate plus what block there being shipped on.
For example the UK people who have dispatched now could be block one but arriving Friday, then block two could be dispatched later tonight but still arrive Friday.
depends how many trunk vehicles they have doing runs.
Think only one in the uk have Shipped , might just be a random mistake

I have the deliveries app as well, what is your showing for number of days and delivered by ? Also what shipping method did you pick ?
Sword, Spider is referring to an iOS app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/deliveries-a-package-tracker/id290986013?mt=8) you can choose Apple as a shipping party, enter your Apple order number and email and it will track the delivery for you. Now at point of Preparing For Shipment the number of days showing and estimated delivery should be taken with a grain of salt as it can mimic whats showing on the Apple Store order screen but once it physically ships it will start counting down for you and show you on the map.
