when i ordered mine yesterday the shipping window even for next day was Nov 2 - Nov 4. I was just checking the store availability for fun and noticed it was back to Oct 30 - Nov 3 for next day.

I wouldn't worry much even if your order is still processing tomorrow. It could ship in the evening and you'd still have it friday.

Like others have mentioned as well in rare cases the device could even arrive before your status has changed on the website, though usually it will at least go to preparing for shipment.

is this proper confirmed though? or a hunch?
9to5mac is pretty reliable. And reading the article it seems that they are basing it on information they received rather than conjecture.

"Now, we’ve learned that Apple is planning to begin selling the new set-top-box at its retail stores this Friday"

Just a word of caution, glimmer of hope with the status thing on Apples pages. Remember in the past that in a number of cases the order page has shown Preparing For Shipment when it is already on a truck and that tracking numbers are often late (as are shipment status updates) in updating there. Apple likes to keep you wondering :)

With recent 6s shipments same thing was seen. Preparing For Shipment yet when you used the backdoor tracking method (UPS tracking by reference number and using your cell phone number of the unit) it showed already on a truck and working its way towards you.

Just thought I'd mention it. Hopefully we all get these on Friday ! :)

It's not apple that I'm worry about, it's UPS. When I was waiting for my keyboard & touchpad, UPS had a delivery date set for a week after they received the packages. At the end, it wasn't early but exactly the date they stated with will be delivered. What bleeped me off was that the status kept on changing at the start from received in passion and not picked up yet.

My daughter and I both ordered 2x 64gb models at about 6am PST on Monday. I live in California and she lives in Virginia. Her's says Preparing to Ship and mine says Processing Items. Just the facts. No idea what it means. I would prefer mine also said Preparing to Ship.

Just a heads up, the apple tvs will be available to purchase in store on Friday in the US.

So I'm still hoping that the people who chose standard shipping will be able to get theirs on Friday.

I figured that they would have stock on Friday... Although, I doubt there will be a lot. I didn't preorder one having thought this... Looks like I'll be standing in line for one on Friday.

Yeah I saw that, I hope that isn't entirely true. (Hopeful optimism)
It would be pretty annoying to have it available in store and my preorder not arrive the same day.

Unless Apple officially announces it. I would (and usually do) take it with a grain of salt. All these news/blog sites want is for you to click the link and read the story (and their ads) on their site.

Maybe Sir Ive plans to deliver yours friday himself since you live in cali o_O at least thats what I'd tell myself till it moved to preparing for shipment.

I'm sure that part of their article was based on the order statuses on apples website rather than any new information. The only new information I think had to do with the in store availability.

It seems like they spoke to retail store employees, who probably don't know anything about the preorder shipments.

They must have a deal with these employees to get info then, or the employee is just saying something to please 9to5 mac. Every time I asked an Apple employee at my nearest Apple store, they didn't know when they will get them.

I am in the same boat as you, still processing.

UPS just dropped off my Nimbus. Paired it to my phone and updated using the app. Tried to play Disney Infinity Toy Box 3.0 but it's too weird. I mean, it works fine, but the screen is so far away when I'm holding the controller that it's impractical. But it does work!

Did you try to AirPlay the Screen to get a larger screen?

I wonder if these will ship from a local depot or from China..... My guess is that they are already on their way from China to the various local depots. From there they'll be unpacked and shipped tonight or tomorrow for Friday delivery.

Care to share the script (just comment out the login details and say username here for example) or point one to a place to make their own? I'd like to do an applescript version.
