Which Apple TV will you get?

Agree. I did it for 2 Apple Tv's also. Not very smart. If I at least get mine tomorrow I will not be to upset. If I do not, and people received theres with free shipping. That is not right.

I agree. I also paid extra for shipping. If I don't receive it tomorrow I'll go pick up one from the store and refuse shipment for the one coming from the site.

Let me put this slightly differently in terms of what probably actually happened. Say Apple has 500,000 Apple TVs sitting in a warehouse. They say, "We can only ship 250,000 of these and guarantee launch day delivery. Customers who buy overnight shipping get priority and then we fill the remaining spaces with standard delivery." They sell 100,000 Apple TVs with overnight delivery. Should they then just not fill the remaining 150,000 spaces because those people didn't pay for overnight shipping? No, they just fill every space and ship them. Some people get lucky and some people don't. There are still 250,000 people who get them four days later but still in the time frame they chose.

Another option could simply be, they could ONLY offer standard shipping and ship them out in the order that the pre-orders were received.

Just got the shipping email for my order:
Delivers 04 Nov, 2015 via Standard Shipping

Once again Canada gets the shaft on delivery.

I'm assuming this was directed at me. Regardless of what the thread is called, this wasn't a preorder by Apple. It simply went on sale and people ordered it.
Everyone got online and purchased the items BEFORE they were available in a store. How is that NOT a pre-order?

Definition of pre-order: order (an item of merchandise) before it is available, with the understanding that it will be shipped later.

I think I will be asking for my $17 back. no reason to pay expedited shipping when I could just go to the store and pick it up. Real question is, do you think we can get our $17 (or $19 if you did by noon delivery) back?

I agree. I called my local Apple Store. After checking with another associate she came back and said she didn't know if they were getting the Apple TVs in tomorrow (Friday, 10/30). But she did say that they were getting a shipment (of something) in tomorrow and that I could either call the store tomorrow to see if they have them or go online and order for an inshore/reservation pick up the same day. Later I had a chat with an Apple Rep online and they said, with certainty, that the Apple Stores were, indeed, getting the Apple TV in tomorrow (Friday). I tend to discount what they said at the Apple Store as that's the same store where the guy said he didn't know when the new iMacs would come out then pointed out how new iMacs are not "refreshed" at the same regular intervals as the iPhone. The very next day, the new iMacs were announced and available. So, I've learned to take anything said at that particular store with a grain of salt. There are far too many unknowledgeable people working there.

I'm glad, now, that I opted for the free delivery. I will try to pick one up at the Apple Store tomorrow then return the one I pre ordered since it's too late to cancel. It makes no sense to pre order anything that is available in the store before you get your pre order.
