Yeah, I got the "stupid card" response when I called my local Apple Store. Got better results with an online chat. I know if I get one tomorrow, I'll be returning the pre order which isn't due for delivery till next week.
 
The uncertainty is extremely frustrating. Been PFS for like 40 hours. Spoke to a apple customer service rep and they wouldn't even take my order number. Just said that you'll get it when you get it. Said that if my order was PFS it should ship within 24 hours of it changing to that status, but it's been 40 and there is still no movement. :mad:
 
I think its funny watching all these people cry who paid for priority shipping and see others who are getting the package the same day they are. I paid for priority shipping next day by noon, and you know what?..

I'd relax. If its PFS, it IS coming. 99.99% chance of it arriving tomorrow.

That's usually the case, but it sure hasn't been this time. Mine has been PFS since Tuesday evening. They also normally wait to charge your card until then as well, but they hit my debit card for the full amount late Monday afternoon. Not sure why things have been so odd with this particular product launch.

Current order status from Apple site is 'Shipped':

Ordered on Monday, near 10 AM with expedited delivery option.
Tracking code is from Fedex and its says that it will be delivered to Plantation, Fl - tomorrow till 10:30 AM:

so what distinguishes a pre-order from an order? If the item isn't commercially available at time of order, does that make it a pre-order? The link on the website said 'buy' not 'pre-order'. I figure if it's an iPhone launch and you order like 2 weeks prior to it shipping, I'd say that's a legit pre-order. But the ATV is basically shipping days after the order date.
 
Dude! The product hasn't been released for sale yet in any store. It is a pre order. I don't care what the official name for it is. It is a pre order! Also, it doesn't really matter.

Definitely semantics and nothing against you. I agree the button didn't say pre-order on the website that I clicked, but the whole things still very much felt like a pre-order in that nothing was going to be available for another 4-5 days. Because of this contradiction, it seems a lot of people were confused about choosing expedited vs. standard shipping options. Since a lot of people were talking about that, I thought an interesting proposition would be to only allow standard shipping for pre-orders and simply ship devices based on the order they were received. I'm not sure Apple's pre-order system is capable of handling demand like that though, but it would definitely seem less confusing for customers.
 
I think I screwed myself over. I ordered Monday AM PST; but didn't get expedited shipping. Did online chat and had it changed to 1 day shipping, so now it says arriving 10/30 - 11/4, but my pre auth charges have fallen off now and it's still PFS. I guess maybe changing the shipping gave up my spot in the order line.
 
I am shocked I ordered Monday 8am ct. Free shipping delivery tomorrow to Memphis TN area. I was expecting next week with free shipping.
 
Mine finally switched to shipped. I ordered around 9:20 am est and paid for expedited shipping. Mine is coming by Fedex and theres no information for the tracking number yet. Hopefully I will get it tomorrow.

If it does ship and it has a Saturday delivery on it, get it held at the hub and pick it up from there if the hub isn't too far away.
 
Says shipped on the apple website, but no delivery date.

I'm really in a odd situation. I've been at PFS for more than 24 hours, my credit card has been charged with full amount and yet still delivery dates are 2 Nov - 4 Nov. Called Apple 2 times and each time they told me that there is chance of getting it tommowrow, but they can't promise anything. Come on Apple! :apple:
 
Two months to get ready for release, these should be available all over the place for sale, but everything is a big secret, you can't get a straight answer from Apple when it is in stores or ready to ship
