Which Apple TV will you get?

that's exactly what I'm saying. Not sure how people can argue how that is exactly fair. It would be like paying extra for Amazon Prime shipping but everyone getting it the day before or the same day for not having to pay.
People are paying for a guaranteed delivery window, that's it. If you had the choice to pay $20 for a ticket to a movie two months from now today would you then feel like you were cheated because someone walked up the day the movie opened and paid $10? No. You were guaranteed a seat and they weren't. Just because they get the same experience as you for less doesn't change that you got exactly what you paid for.

I would actually feel a bit cheated in this scenario and would probably go to the box office to ask for them to make up the difference in price.

Ordered before 9am EST on Monday. My order is still set to "Preparing for Shipment". I also paid for overnight shipping.

I called Apple and cancelled my order. They were able to cancel it and the person I spoke with said they would still be able to stop the shipment from being picked up by the carrier for delivery.

I'm going to purchase at the Apple store tomorrow at lunch.

I just tracked my 32GB by reference on fedex (used my phone number on Apple order) and it shows that a label has been made and its in Mount Juliet TN waiting to ship out overnight to me in Stillwater MN. Looks like I'll have it tomorrow! I was getting worried as Apple still shows it as preparing for shipment with delivery 10-30 to 11-3.

Just received my notice of shipment from Apple. Coming via UPS to Olive Branch, MS and I ordered 92x 32GB models) Monday morning with Expedited Shipping.

Let me put this slightly differently in terms of what probably actually happened. Say Apple has 500,000 Apple TVs sitting in a warehouse. They say, "We can only ship 250,000 of these and guarantee launch day delivery. Customers who buy overnight shipping get priority and then we fill the remaining spaces with standard delivery." They sell 100,000 Apple TVs with overnight delivery. Should they then just not fill the remaining 150,000 spaces because those people didn't pay for overnight shipping? No, they just fill every space and ship them. Some people get lucky and some people don't. There are still 250,000 people who get them four days later but still in the time frame they chose.

That is what has become the standard now in people's eyes? Pay more to guarantee a spot, but if they don't sell enough everyone else can pay less for the same experience.

Status just changed to shipping. Ordered Monday morning expedited shipping. Coming to New Orleans from Tennessee by FEDEX. Delivered by 8 PM Friday.

still in PFS for me, ordered immediately at point of pre-order :( Hope I see a shipment notification soon. Again nothing showing on FedEx for me but UPS shows:

>>> Not all tracking information is available at this time. Please try again later.
Your search found 1 package matching your package reference criteria.

So looks like its being shipped this way (used a date range of 10/16 - 10/29) but no tracking number yet, not sure if I should be concerned or if this could still ship for delivery tomorrow ?

I completely understand what you are saying but, again, Apple's site listed the delivery window for free standard shipping as Nov. 2-4. The only options with a delivery window that included the 30th was the overnight upgrades. I would have never paid for overnight if they had correctly listed standard as Oct.30-Nov.4.

I'm not upset with folks getting there's tomorrow, I'm upset that Apple didn't correctly list the delivery windows on there website.

Shipped on October 29, 2015

I'm in Regina, SK. No delivery date and tracking number isn't active yet.

After hours checking online, finally I can see my order in fedex website, the apple site isn't updated yet.
Location item: Rialto, CA US

Fedex says "label created"
Scheduled delivery Fri 10/30/2015 by 10:30am (I was one of the stupid that paid $19 for next day delivery before noon) "NEVER AGAIN!!!!"

I'm so pissed off, can't believe I paid $19 to get it the same day as everybody else. I also live in Glendale, CA, I have 2 Apple stores 5 minutes walking distance from my house. 2 of them!

I'd love to call Apple and try to get the shipping cost back, but I think I should let it go and learn from this.

One of my orders shipped , my other still say preparing for shipment maybe both Apple Tvs are in the same box?

That being said mine is expected to be here tomorrow via UPS. Glad I took free shipping .

Edit : says its 2.0lbs so I doubt both got shipped together

I called and cancelled mine and I was told that I would be refunded the full amount (including shipping).

cancelled it? but was it "Preparing for Shipment"? I didnt think you could cancel it if it was at that part of the process

order: SoCal, Monday 8:30am PT, 2x 64GB, overnight

Found on FedEx for 10/30 (am) delivery
Apple order "still preparing.."

I know I shouldn't count my chickens, but can't wait to start playing :)

Why? As long as they get them in the timeframe they paid for, then they have nothing to complain about. I've used free shipping on every product I've ever bought from Apple and always gotten them on launch day. I don't know why you'd pay extra when this is the case but people are free to spend their money however they wish.

The better question is, why would Apple offer expedited shipping for preorders if this is always the case?

Yes, I couldn't cancel the order exactly. The Apple rep on the phone processed a return for my order. They are going to return the Apple TV to the warehouse before it is shipped to me, but the result is the same. I don't get my Apple TV shipped to me, I get a full refund and I go buy one tomorrow in store.
