Just walked into Apple Store in Soho to pick up one. Average amount of customers all looking for something else. There is no showtable for the new Apple TV. I had to find it from the shelf on the very back. Located together with other accessories.

This has been a pretty frustrating experience. Monday, place order at 7:35 AM Pacific as there was NO option for in store order. Order is still sitting Friday as PFS and I just was able to go online and order one for pick up today at lunch. Ridiculous scheduling. I'm sure there are logistical issues that Apple are working through but why were they able to expedite their own store orders yet many of us could have been left empty handed over this weekend.

What i don't get is why didn't Apple just flipping send them out w/ UPS or Fed Ex Monday night? If they want to please the damn reviewers, then they got their priorities screwed up them. Buying customer first, bloggers & reviewers second (no offence macrumors).

Web chat told me that if my order has not shipped yet that it is back ordered and will probably be later than the promised nov 2-4 yet I can not cancel since it is preparing for shipment
When did you order and where do you live?

Arrived 12:00 p.m. CST at work. I can't wait to get home and set it up. But I'll be dealing with Ghosts and Goblins about the same time ;)

They can get millions of iPhones delivered on launch day and yet can't deliver a few hundred thousand at most AppleTVs.

If an item is backordered it shouldn't be showing as "preparing for shipping", this means your item is available and is physically being prepared to ship (this is why they don't let you cancel a PFS order online).

This is what I woke up to see. It says it's in California, but I'm in Colorado. It originally said my order was set to deliver today. I ordered Monday and requested overnight shipping. Calling now to see what the heck happened.

Just thought I would post an update. I am still at PFS with nothing found via reference on fedex or UPS, expedited shipping. Went to Best Buy and they said they only got a few in and they sold out within minutes so I wasn't able to get one.

Really frustrating.

Anyone in Seattle see any shipping movement? Mine is supposed to be delivered in the next 10 minutes (priority overnight) but FedEx's last scan was last night in California...

And that's why I'm not getting angry about waiting. At least I know my apple tv is coming via UPS in a few days or a week. I don't have to run around like a chicken w/ no head (hmm halloween costume idea?) hoping to find one. My current Apple TV is working fine and will continue to do so until the new one comes in.

No change here in Northern Virginia. Even though standard shipping, PFS for days is nuts. Going to get two at the mall tomorrow and return the 'real' ones when they come in.

Looks like Apple did treat all orders as 'normal' and they go out whenever with no rush to get there Friday for all that they could.

Yeah i got the same message i did a chat with UPS and she told me they don't know what happened, and she didn't have a delivery date, so looks like i have to wait and see what happens.
