I've seen a lot of people who's deliveries didn't make today, whether they paid the extra or not.
I can understand your frustration, as I really don't know why Apple didn't announce a date for ATV for in-store.
I just think as for the whole delivery process once it leaves Apple warehouse it is general out of there hands. The scale as well of the transport industry is outstanding, the amount of things that happen within 18 hours is mind boggling. I just think its one of them things were a percentage of people will miss out on launch day, and I cant me stopped as something logistically will happen.
Yeah I just ran to the closest Apple Store (West Edmonton Mall) and grabbed one. I'll return the one I ordered and eat the 14$ I paid for expedited.
Maybe there was an option to receive updates from Apple and I didn't check it. But at least I know for sure that it's out for delivery. Just 1.5 hours to go!! You and I both! Haha, this day better fly by...I'm surprised you didn't receive an e-mail I actually did. my FedEx status was last updated at 7:51. Still scheduled for delivery by 10:30 so It's fine.I'm just getting impatient! LOL!

I'm in the same boat as many of you. I (pre)ordered around 9:00 AM on Monday with standard shipping. On Tuesday, I called to upgrade to "expedited" shipping, which clearly isn't the case. Fortunately they gave it to me for free.
Since probably late Tuesday, I've been stuck at Preparing for Shipment.
I'm also near Harrisburg, so I'm guessing there's some sort of issue with their shipments that they're taking forever to send them out.

Yes. Mine is on truck for delivery.
I had the free ground shipping for Nov2-4... but magically it was on truck for delivery this morning. Atlanta, EastCoast.
It just switched! Out for delivery! Woooooo! funny thing is..... It's been Out for delivery this whole time! It's a little after 9 AM and the status JUST switched! yet it said the updated time on the site says 7:59am.
Oh well, It's heading my way now!

Ordered 8:58am on the 26th with expedited shipping. UPS status is "shipping label created" with no estimated delivery yet and shipping email from apple at 12:40am says delivery est Nov 2nd. I called to complain about paying and extra $17 for really no benefit and that historically pre-orders of new apple products arrive day of release. Rep said they are within the estimated delivery window still but understood my frustration and credited the expedited delivery fee. Said I could buy in store and return ordered one in store or by mail if I so chose. If I have time I'll go to store and get one otherwise I'm just glad I'm no longer paying $17 extra for no reason.
That Apple notification in the Deliveries app is just based on the delivery estimate (latest date), once it ships (changes from Preparing Shipment) you should see it update to an actual delivery time
Is anyone in the DC area seeing movement on their deliveries yet? I ordered a 64GB model with free delivery on Monday at 8:30 AM, and it's still "Preparing for Shipment Available to ship: 3-5 business days Delivers: 02 Nov, 2015 - 04 Nov, 2015 by Free 2 Business Day Shipping"
So one thing that bugs me is I can't use the remote app on it? I had to pair the Siri remote, and then when I got to the home screen my remote app still wouldn't see it. Is this a remote app update?
