Awesome! I can't wait to get off work and test this out. We have all been waiting a long time for this.
 
Well, I found a Best Buy about an hour out that had one. I figured I would go ahead and place an order and just go get it. Before I ordered I did one more check on Fedex by reference and I just found my order! It's scheduled to get here tomorrow. My apple status still says PFS. I also paid for overnight.

So, I'll just wait to get it tomorrow instead of driving out. If you haven't checked your references in the last hour, try it now!
 
My free shipping 32GB finally shipped today and will be here on Nov 2 via Ontrac. No signature required

My order is still PFS and decided to check best buy's website again. I was able to order it and I'll pick it up tonight. I'm very disappointed in Apple for how this played out. I'll probably send back the one from Apple when it finally arrives.

It's very variable. :) I printed the form off the FedEx website; once they get the package, you can print the customized form for your delivery. You need to already be signed up for Delivery Manager, I believe, though.

I was able to reject my order by calling ups and giving them the tracking number. Now I have to wait for the refund. Picked up the Apple TV at my local apple store they had quite a few.
 
I just love how it takes them 3+ days to prepare for shipment. This inefficiency is going to cause a lot of wasted resources for them with everyone buying them in store today and returning the shipped units whenever they decide to actually ship out and arrive. Would have been much simpler to have been able to cancel on Tuesday since my order still hasn't shipped yet.

That is so true. Plus the waiting period for the refund.

The wait period for the refund is really just an annoyance for us the customers. They shouldn't be charging for orders unless they are going to actually ship out the order within 24 hours.

Some of it seems to stem as is consumers clearly see this as a pre order situation (not available in stores or any other way when we all ordered) but Apple did not. It then seems they handled fulfillment against order priority a lot differently than they would in a true pre-order (think iPhone etc) situation. A number of us now (after staying up on the 26th all night waiting to order at earliest opportunity) will be visiting a store to get a unit quicker than the ones shipping !

Certainly hope that communication around orders of new items (classed as pre order or not) is crisper in the future and that launch day deliveries on these items are more of a guarantee or at least a stated option as they are in the case of iPhones/iPad pre orders (before they run out etc).

For those that have gone to stores today, any idea on stock levels (lots, not that many etc) and if there were lines ?

No lines; saw a few on the shelf (no idea how many were elsewhere in the store). No interest noted. I was the only one to walk out of the store with an ATV. Store traffic was swift, as usual, but the customers were interested in other things.
 
I paid for overnight shipping by 10:30 AM. I had both at my door at 8:54 AM. I ordered them around 9:30 AM on Monday. Location - Dallas, TX.
