Which Apple TV will you get?

The AppleTV I ordered last Monday morning is slated to finally deliver tomorrow afternoon. Not that it matters that much. I bought one in store on Friday so it's going to be going straight back to Apple. They consider the AppleTV a hobby and they sure shipped it out like it was one.

Only thing I don't like about the new AppleTV is the no day one support for the iPhone app. Typing in passwords with the siri remote is awful. Hopefully this gets remedied soon, but I doubt it.

I also will receive my now second Apple TV tomorrow (also ordered last Monday).

I've decided to keep the second one to replace one of my other two Apple TV 3. I like the potential it has, although is not perfect in any way, but most of it can be fixed with OS and apps updates. We will see if I replace the third ATV 3 anytime soon or wait until the next generation.

My tracking info on UPS finally updated. The Canadian UPS horse and buggy is supposed to make it over to my place on the west coast by Friday. Nothing like pre-ordering and getting it a week after launch.

So, the newest shipping idiocy is that my second unit (I know, wah) doesn't even have a FedEx label for tomorrow's delivery. Well, without that I can't generate the release form to print and sign to put on the door tomorrow AM (that I shouldn't have to because Apple said no signature lol). Can this get any more screwed up?

If the package is flagged as No Signature Required, I would think it would not need a signature. My shipment is from UPS and it notes no signature is required. Speaking of which, my unit arrived at the distribution point about 10 minutes ago so as I expected, it will be delivered tomorrow (as originally scheduled). Not that I am in any real hurry, to be honest as I have a 3rd gen unit at the moment.

Just saw that a package is due to be delivered by end of day tomorrow. Then realized it's my damn remote loop. Apple TV still doesn't have a solid delivery date. Lady Luck is really on my side.

Having checked the UPS site once again...have an origin scan out of Concord, Ontario at 1:12 PM their time today. Hoping it makes the cargo flight out of the UPS hub in Hamilton tonight.
Have a delivery date of Thursday by end of day.
Must say though, being able to post the pain of this debacle on here is quite cathartic.

Here's hoping we all get our orders soon.

Had an origin scan there today as well. Mine is showing a departure scan at 10:09PM.

Looks like UPS put rockets up the horses you know what. Package is coming tomorrow, not Wednesday. :)

EDIT: maybe not, UPS email says tomorrow. Everything else is saying Wednesday o_O

Apple says no signature. FedEx wants one. :) Not much to say there. They aren't supposed to require one if the declared valid is under $500, I believe. But they do.

Image they ask for a signature for all Apple products (regardless if Apple requires one or not) due to the high number of theft or accusations that they never delivered it but they did.

Just my opinion though.

Definitely a possibility. But still should be at sender's request. Especially in safe neighborhood. In any case, form now on door. But too bad we can't sign online for it instead having to print it out!

Thanks for he advice . I did the same just in case they require it and I'm not home

I didn't order one because Amazon decided to not include Prime Video service on it. I am now stuck with my current Roku3 or the option is to upgrade to Roku 4.

Come on Amazon!

Received a text message this morning saying today between 9 and 12:30, but tracking still hasn't updated since friday. Still says package is in Concord, Ontario...

The horse just farted a little bit and made him gallop for a sec, which momentarily changed the delivery date in the system.

Told you all to just pick it up from the store

Even Best Buy had it today lol

Silly me . . . I pre ordered but when I saw that it was available locally I picked one up last Friday (10/30).
Here it is . . . Tuesday and the pre order has still not arrived. Glad I picked one up last week. I'm returning the pre order when ever it arrives.

My order (32gb, from last Monday) took a while on PFS but it did schedule for today via FedEx.

It arrived in the state early this morning and for a couple hours was scheduled for tomorrow. But it was put on a truck and is out. Whew.

I've found in this area UPS to be more reliable and tracking to be more up to date.

I would guess apple ended up a week behind where they wanted to be with inventory, but wanted to hold to October as they said, which is why stores and some received orders. Kind of a shame they couldn't pull off what they do for iPhones, but oh well.

And then a mysterious $8 iTunes credit showed up in my bank account today. No idea where it came from, and I keep a pretty good eye on it.

Ordered mine at 9:10AM on Monday the 26th, it just started moving yesterday, won't get here until tomorrow. This has been mildly irritating.

Oh and it was preparing for shipment since Tuesday. What were they doing, whittling the box out of a single tree?

I have a theory but i'll keep my mouth shut as it may bleep off or offend some people and may get banned for it.

My 2nd one finally got delivered (Got the first one on Friday.) . Both free shipping . And free coupon from Apple to boot .
