Cancelled my Apple One Premier subscription. Music (€17 family plan) and 2TB of iCloud storage (€10) are essential. I’ve watched complete seasons of about 75% of Apple TV+ shows and loved almost all of them: See, Drops of God, The Crowded Room, The Morning Show, Silo, Severance, For All Mankind, every documentary—you name it, I’ve seen it—but I don’t find it worth €10/mo. Maybe I’ll get it once in a while, binge it out, and leave. For €30/mo (and €32 still) Apple One made sense for me—at €38 it most definitely doesn’t.

More reasons for me to continue to give Apple less money.

The entire bug-riddled user experience has gone downhill in dramatic fashion over the last 5 years as prices have steadily climbed. Tim is trolling at this point. If there was anywhere else to go, I’d leave, and that’s a sad, sad state of affairs from where Steve left Apple.

Never forget your dollar vote; it is certainly hard to leave the ecosystem altogether in the current landscape, but you don’t have to give Apple any more money than you have to. This is the kind of Apple product that’s easy to say no to.

If Jobs were still alive it would surprise me if Cook would still be at Apple.

Oct 2022, first price hike in 2 years (since initially offering). Modest 10% increase, wish my investments made 10%.
Oct 2023: 13%+ price increase.
Yearly? Ugh.

Don’t change your habits one bit. Keep doing the same thing while expecting different results. And chalk it all up to unattributable “randomness”

We got a big “event” coming up end of next year .. one that could be more impactful than any of Apple’s

Hmm I wonder what that could be?

2019 - 4.99/mo Apple TV+
2022 - 6.99/mo
2023 - 9.99/mo

That's the best approach. Subscribe to the essential, then periodically dip into TV or arcade to binge consume for a month.

Well, I only use Appletv+ and apple music so the price is cheaper with the apple one bundle, all the extra people on my plan use them both as well. I never use apple arcade, checked it out once but was not impressed with the selection. I'd never pay for news+ or the fitness+. I do think apple music is getting a little expensive, another bump and I will rethink my subscription. This and Prime are my only subscriptions, so won't be a loss to get rid of either one.

This just reaffirms my correct decision to never have paid for any of these services. they exist only to hook and lock you in, while the prices will increase consistently. They even take 4-5 games away from my baseball team per season now, but I haven't caved.

I'll continue to find the content elsewhere.

Madness certainly for Apple News

Apple TV and news I have free for 6 months but still only TV would be worth it for me

Its all about money I guess... could it partially be to pay for the new AI infra that apple is planning to build up? I will sure cancel News and Arcade to begin with.

Does anyone know if Apple has obtained exclusive streaming rights to World War III docuseries?

Asking for Patrick the Starfish who lives under a rock and thinks ‘this is fine’

I downgraded from Apple One Premier to Apple Music (student subscription - luckily had to do a short university course for work) and iCloud 2TB after the last price hike. I’m totally priced out now and can’t see myself ever resubscribing at £37pm.

Have three simplified tiers where I can choose which subscriptions and I’d rethink.

It’s increasing in the U.K. as well… I remember when I only paid £30 for apple one, stomached £32 and now it’s £36.95 🫠 gonna see if I can get it included on a deal or something. £8.99 for apple tv’s mad, that’s more than Disney+ now isn’t it? Reckon they’re gearing up for Apple TV with ads at £4.99? (Also don’t get me wrong Apple TV is my favourite streamer but still, I liked it at £6)

Thankfully I get Apple TV+ through T-Mobile
If Apple continues to increase the cost of Apple TV+ which will probably be $12.99 within the next two years I can see T-Mo trying to migrate you and others to a plan at a higher cost with no opt-out option. They showed their true colors recently and while it may have backfired a little, I don’t think their plan migration shenanigans are over.

The prices are already ridiculous in Canada… I have Apple One - mainly for iCloud - but Apple is really making me question if I want to continue on this route.

Wish it was just one thing where you picked what you wanted and then got a % off based on how many items you chose

What is the justification for these price increases?

What groundbreaking new shows did Apple add to TV+ to justify the 30% price increase?
What exciting new games did Apple add to arcade to justify the 30% price increase?
What innovative new features did Apple add to News+ to justify the 25% price increase?
Budget for “killers of the flower moon” is estimated at $200 Million 🤷🏻‍♂️

Most people look at these 30-40% price increases as a negative. I see it as a positive. When google raised YT TV, YT premium, hulu, netflix, and now apple tv, I took it as an opportunity to cancel the services. Personally, I don't sit in front of the tv that often. Because of these increases, I'm saving $2000 a year. It might not sound like much, but I feel better not feeding these corporations my hard earned money.

All still worth it for me. Just my opinion. I watch Apple TV+ way more than Netflix, so I ditched Netflix. I really enjoy Apple News+, and the new crosswords. I do the meditation stuff and sometimes the cycling on Apple Fitness. Apple Arcade is the one I don't use much. Apple Music, I just want a big catalog of music, don't care much about the rest. I have canceled other subs, also removed some social media from my life, and kept this.
