Apple News wouldn't be so bad if Apple didn't infest it with ads.
Apple built that house specifically for their roaches. They don't have a heartfelt commitment to journalism, journalists, or journalistic integrity. That's not where they came from. Apple simply spotted a market where they could slightly differentiate by claiming some superior sensibility in curation. But that's bogus. The market holds sway.

Actually, I rather enjoy making my rounds of all the screamsheets of an evening. For grocery lines and breaks in the loo, I browse FlipBoard with the READER view button mashed down. I pay for Time Magazine and the Wall Street Journal as polar opposites. And 911 & Porsche World and GT Porsche.

I never thought Apple's price was worth their content, separate or bundled, only partly because I live at my horse farm 3-4 days a week. The net don't inter, out where the buses don't run. Most raw copy is always available somewhere for free with an ad or two zillion.

I used to own my music in iTunes and loved how it curated it all, it felt like I owned albums.

I thought I would never leave iTunes.

The move to streaming, Apple Music, and the way the app is a bit wonky on most systems, means that’s changed.

It’s now a case of is it worth paying Apple or Spotify.

It’s be pretty easy to rebuild my music collection and various programs can do it for you.

Apple Arcade is worthless.

And Apple TV is not worth any more than they’re currently charging.
They should unbundle fitness, news and arcade from One.

At some point all these services are going to price themselves out from their customers. Then what?

Because I doubt their boards will offset any difference in revenue.

Pretty wild price increases... smh. Apple is a money machine. I'm sure the emergency SOS will be added to the Premiere sub once the free 2 years is out.

A 43% increase for ATV+?!!
40% and 30% for the others?
Take it. Shove it.
100% price increase for ATV+ over the past ~366 days.

Just set my subscriptions for ATV+ and Arcade (which already had me debating the value even at $4.99) to cancel at the next renewal date.

Speaking of news readers, I use News Explorer for my news and tech feeds without any ads.

I pay $32.95 for Apple One Premier, now I’m not even sure why. I only use Apple Music ($16.99/mo for Family) and iCloud ($9.99/mo for Family). I’m not sure it’s worth $11/mo extra to keep Apple One.

There was just a story the other day about how much more the new iPhones cost Apple to make and yet they didn’t increase the prices. Well here is how they make up for that difference folks. No thanks Apple. I would have rather paid and extra $50 or $100 for my new iPhone 15 Pro. At least it was improved unlike your crappy “services”’

Ehhh. We just subscribe to a service, watch what we want, then move on to the next.
We get a few of these streamers with our cell phone plan. Those are the only ones we keep continuously.
No point paying these fees when when shows are between seasons.

Cancelled Apple Music earlier this year, never going back.
It also feel not so up to date the whole service, but I might used it wrong.
Ah, well, not for me.

Subscribed to YouTube, which is for me, and got YouTube Music included.
Not a big music consumer anyway, but I love YT premium.

Apple today announced that it is increasing the prices of some of its subscription-based services, including Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and Apple News+, for new and existing subscribers in the U.S. and many other countries around the world.

Apple-TV-Arcade-and-News-Price-Increase-Feature-2.jpg

The price changes in the U.S. are as follows:
  • Apple TV+: $6.99 per month → $9.99 per month
  • Apple Arcade: $4.99 per month → $6.99 per month
  • Apple News+: $9.99 per month → $12.99 per month
For those who subscribe to Apple TV+ on an annual basis, the price has increased from $69 per year to $99 per year accordingly.

Prices for the Apple One bundles that include these services are also increasing as a result:
  • Individual: $16.95 per month → $19.95 per month
  • Family: $22.95 per month → $25.95 per month
  • Premier: $32.95 per month → $37.95 per month
The price increases take effect immediately for new subscribers, and in 30 days from today for existing subscribers, on their next renewal date after that grace period. Apple should send out emails to existing subscribers notifying them about the changes over time, as it did following price increases to some services last year.

In the U.S., these are the first-ever price increases for Apple Arcade and Apple News+ since the services launched in November 2019, while Apple TV+ had its first price increase from $4.99 per month to $6.99 per month in October 2022.

In a statement shared with MacRumors, Apple said it is "focused on delivering the best experiences possible for our customers by consistently adding high-quality entertainment, content, and innovative features to our services."

There are no price increases for Apple Music and Apple Fitness+ today.

Apple Music is easy to quit unless you are a teenager. the only subscription I cannot quit is Adobe.. they keep offering me Creative Cloud for $20...

I was perfectly happy with my $30 Apple One bundle. Now I’ll just go pay for Apple Music and the 200Gb icloud. I can live without all the other stuff.

They can’t
They’ve slated Netflix Spotify Disney Hulu for the same thing over the few months

Now apple does it the pain and tears are flowing 😂😂
I see the same things about them in forums. We haven't had NF in forever and we only keep D+ because it is $10 with VZW for Trio no ads. Only have ATV+ because I can always find a free promo

Tell us how you really feel, please.

Given their slowing hardware sales, this doesn't surprise me. People might skip a hardware upgrade, but many will happily go along with a monthly service price increase...which leads to greater "Services" revenue...which makes Wall Street happy. Everyone has pretty much accepted that hardware sales are slowing. The one bright spot is Services, so they're doing whatever they can to keep those numbers going up.

Other than Apple Music, I don't think any of these services are worth the price. Bundled together on a family plan, however, they're still a great deal. And the best thing about an Apple family plan is that you get to define "family".

I stick with Apple Music because it still offers the best support for owned libraries. The focus is definitely streaming these days, but the Music app on my Mac is still a great tool for managing my huge library of files. I will always buy the music I really love, so I appreciate that Apple offers me a streaming service with a good desktop client for managing my owned library. If that ever changes, I don't think I'd stay with Apple Music.
