I think that Apple's goal here is to encourage people to switch to the "one" bundle. This made me switch to Apple One. I should have before. I had to have a long conversation with ChatGPT about whether it was the right thing to do, and it clearly is.
Yes I know. Just referring to the way all the streaming services are raising their pricesThats not going to happen. TV cable is $100 a month where I live, one month is an entire year of Apple TV. I have an HD antenna that we rarely use but it's there.
Yep, days when YouTube Tv was less than $30, Netflix was 7.99 etcits been that way for years
For now, let's hope it stays that way.Well at least Apple One isn’t increasing.
Cell companies are doing that now with the "PriceLocks"I would like to see a subscription model where the price actually goes down at certain intervals as a reward for long time loyal customers. As long as you continue your subscription then you stay at the lowest price. If you unsubscribed then you start back at the higher price.
I'm sure there's reasons against this but all I see is prices going up for the same thing I'm already getting.
Didnt it already increase? I thought it was $19.99 when it came out or $29For now, let's hope it stays that way.
It has increased in the past, but not this year.Didnt it already increase? I thought it was $19.99 when it came out or $29
Fine, I'll sub 1 month and do anKeeping the annual subscription price the same?
This price increase is clearly aimed at people who subscribe for a few months, binge everything that's new, then cancel. Repeat.
My 55+ plan also includes Netflix (with ads) and I'm enjoying the freedom to leave good shows unmatched on ATV+ and Netflix until a future date. Until I switched to this plan, I would subscribe to one service for a month about once year, and burn through the shows.I suspect that if T-Mobile didn’t offer it as a perk, I’d cancel it. But then, I feel the same way about Netflix
P.s. Netflix with ads is not as bad as I was expecting. There are few of them, often very short, and not every show has all the ad breaks.
Exactly. But the intrusiveness varies by service. I received a free month of Prime and paid the couple bucks extra to get the very obnoxious lengthy ad breaks removed while I enjoyed the shows on my list. It's probably just me, but I only tolerate ADs when the movies/tv content is free (like on PlutoTV or Tubi).
Severance got 27 Emmy nods this year. Every above the line cast/crew member is likely asking for more money behind the scenes.I understand the concept of inflation but +30% ?
Well, I stopped my subscription two months ago and I switched to a more affordable streaming service.
Apple today raised the monthly price of its Apple TV+ streaming service to $12.99 in the U.S., according to 9to5Mac's Benjamin Mayo.

Apple TV+ cost just $4.99 per month in the U.S. when it launched in 2019, but the price has now increased three times. The price went up to $6.99 per month in 2022, and then to $9.99 per month in 2023, and now the service costs $12.99 per month. The latest price increase applies to select other countries too.
An annual subscription to Apple TV+ will continue to cost $99 in the U.S., and Apple One bundle prices are not changing, the report said.
The new price is effective immediately for new Apple TV+ subscribers, but various free trial options remain available. For existing subscribers, the price increase will take effect 30 days after their next renewal date, the report said.
In a statement shared with 9to5Mac, Apple attempted to justify the price increase by noting that it has continued to expand its library of original content, and it touted the value of its Apple One plans with multiple Apple services.
Many other streaming services like Disney+ and Netflix have raised prices in recent years.
