Can we also have an Nvidia Shield app to watch in please?

Hopefully they‘ll release an Android TV app soon. The app from the Fire TV Stick is already working on the Shield TV, but it won‘t let me log in into my Apple ID.

It’s called TV+, not Movie+. Not sure why you expected otherwise!

I knew that they will only add their shows, but consider apple music + where they only include songs produced by apple and you had to pay for other songs. That would be nuts, right?

Awful interface, just like Apple News+

i hate how their shows are just thrown into the mix of everything else. It should have its own separate navigation point in the TV App. If there is, I am blind I guess.

all I saw was the morning show randomly among stuff I watched on the cw app and other stuff

Agree. It should have some kind of “My Shows” tab (My Lists in Netflix) for easy navigation.

I opened the app and had a pop up window with a start watching button. Clicked on it and I get the following message:
"No videos. Your synced videos will appear here."
There are no buttons or any other way of going back. It's just an empty white screen with the text mentioned before.

I've never used Apple TV before so a bit of help would be appreciated. I have an iPad Air 3 bought about 2 weeks ago.

Darn :( i bought my iMac in the last week of August. No free goodies for me!

But i had to upgrade to Catalina first anyway to get that Free 1 year subscription and hell no i'm gonna do that (now).

A technical point for anyone that needs subtitles: they say it has closed caption CC in 8 languages, but CC doesn't work over HDMI so that won't be true on the Apple TV.
I presume these must still be available on the app via TVs that still support them.
You should still get SDH subtitles however because they are sent as images rather than instructions to be decoded.

This post needs a health warning. I saw the $7.99/month before I noticed the reference to Australia and nearly died of shock.

Wow that's insane. So the Apple TV is the worst hardware for watching Apple TV+

I thought Apple was all about the hardware and software working together.

Yeah finally! There are two-three shows I really want to watch

Quite interested in 'For All Mankind' because I really loved BSG and it's an interesting idea- female astronauts.
Then they blew it for me because every single one of the women in the trailer is crying so it's the same old stereotypes wrapped up as something bold and new and I bet it's going to miss the mark in that case.
Would they show a trailer with the male astronauts crying? De we really think female astronauts would cry?
I don't.
A backward step from Kara Thrace then.

I don't think there's anything you can do about it if your box is sitting at the end of an HDMI cable.

I understand Apple TV is native in some Samsung TVs, I think I read that, and eventually in others so I expect they will be available that way.
I do use subtitles a lot so it's a big thing for me but If they have SDH it'll do.

I use them either for languages or sometimes or just because the actors mumble or the sound is bad.

There are a lot of shows where I just can't make out what they are saying!

There’s literally less than 10 shows available. I was half expecting a few hundred movies too. Guess I’ll be restarting my Netflix account again 🙄
This.

The library will get bigger, but it will get bigger in the same pace that you finish the few shows that already exists. So for a single moment, there may be 2 or 3 shows that you can choose between. If those 2 or 3 shows are not what you want, then you're paying for nothing.

I understand that they're going into this business since analog TV is dying and streaming services has a very bright future. But it's gonna take a long time until they can compete with HBO, Netflix, and soon Disney.

I'll take the free year, but I'll likely unsubscribe after that if the library hasn't improved a lot. Although I must say that the good thing is the price, it's cheaper than all alternatives, and I don't have tons of time to watch TV anyway, so I don't know if the top tier of Netflix (I want ultra HD) is worth it for me.
