Hummm I only get offered a 7 day free trial. I am in Germany.

I was expecting already existing shows and movies to be part of the library, but it’s only a handful of originals. Very underwhelming. Not sure I’ll pay for this!

Currently watching the free Dickinson pilot and omg how awful is Jane Krakowski in this! 5 mins in and I am waiting for her „SNL Skit“ to be over. She’s way overacting. That’s all I have to say haha

Well I’ll be. My replacement 8+ from Apple (which they issued me for the price of a battery replacement after the attempt was unsuccessful) qualifies me for a year of free tv+.

I just see a 7 day free trial option in my account.. had bought a 11 pro max on 20 Sep, 2019.. do I need to do any special steps for getting the free 1 year trial.

The thing is buggy as hell. Same here. When I clicked on 'See' it suddenly offered me free year. Tried to 'buy' it. Needed to verify my card, then I was back on the same screen again. So I tried to get the free offer again - and get the message my device is not eligible. So I cancelled and went to my subscription page to see that I already have the free year. When going back to the app it was finally 'unlocked'.

So what are the more inexpensive (read: not buying Apple TV) options to watch this on a TV? I have a ChromeCast that I use for Netflix, Amazon Video, Disney+, YouTube and so forth and do not see a point in buying expensive hardware or a new TV for Apple TV+. :/

FYI- you get a temp charge to your billing method - $5.99 when you activate the free 1 year.

I am in for my one year free. If they keep this going, I should never have to actually pay for Apple TV+, as I always buy the new iPhone, and generally a new Mac, and if they release a new Apple TV, I will definitely be picking up one of those!

Lets see...should I start with "See" or "The Morning Show"?

:apple:

The amount of content is staggeringly low. I can’t see anyone in their right mind paying for this 2 months in a row.

People will defend Apple but, I’m sorry, The Morning Show is the most expensive show ever made. Twice the cost per episode as Game of Thrones. 300 million for the first season. They had money to burn and they burned it poorly.

All that said... it’s free thanks to my new phone so whatever but Apple has 12 months to take TV+ seriously or it’s their next Newstand.

It’s called TV+, not Movie+. Not sure why you expected otherwise!

Everyone on the planet watches movies on TV, so I expect most users expect some movies on an entertainment TV service.

The flix in Netflix implies films, and yet Netflix offers TV series as well. Go figure.

And if we only judged what a company offers by its name, then Apple would only sell fruit, right? And an Apple Mac would be an apple in a raincoat?

And the + in TV+ implies TV with mathematics?

And we can watch on phones, tablets, computers... so why call it TV alone?

If you don’t wanna buy a new TV or the ATV then your only option to watch it would be VPN and torrents!

How can people who bought a new iPhone or Apple Watch claim their “Free Subscription” for a year. Only a “Free” for 7 Day Trial is showing.

As I understand it, the Apple Watch does not count as a device to get this offer. I believe it is only Macs, iPhones, iPads, and Apple TV's.

Please, someone correct me if I wrong about that.

Yeah. The official list is Phone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, or Mac

With DolbyVision and Dolby Atmos - in sharp contrast to HBO Max which didn't mention that at all in their event and unsurprisingly no one asked about it in the approved Q&A so HBO'll likely stick with cable not being usurped by quality streaming.

I wanted to try the free episodes though and all I get is 'there's a problem loading this content' I'll try again later.
