This is what I was wondering too. They usually tout the processor, but there's no mention of a "S7 SiP"... Is this watch retaining the S6 SiP from the previous model?
They might be doing something similar to the S5 SiP where there wasn't actually any major difference from the S4 in terms of performance, hence no mention of it.

Might upgrade my 5. Glad they did not go flat edges. Too easy for a flat watch to get banged up. REALLY happy you can use existing bands, as I have more money in bands than in the watch!

Wow this was underwhelming. I wasn’t really into the flat design so no problem there but a little bigger screen with the ability to see it from the edge? Not gonna upgrade from my S5 and thats a good thing. More money for my much needed iPhone upgrade. I have the 7+ today and the battery is really bad with 77% max capacity. I charge it 2-4 times per day now and the only usage is music and podcasts almost.

I guess the chip shortage and production problems made Apple throw in the towel and focus on getting new chips for the iPhone instead and return to the tried old design. Next year is probably the new design and temperature sensor.

Blood glucose and blood pressure is still a few years off so I wouldn‘t expect that next year either.

The whole event was meh. And what is the problem with them rolling out something like Fitness+ to only 15 more countries!? I do not want the instructor in anything else than english so why do I have to wait? Should have rolled out to the whole world in english from the start. What happened to getting gym equipment with GymKit rolled out? A few gyms around the world has it. Finally a bike and one threadmill supports it.. that I kinda can’t buy.

They screwed over the guy that made FlickType.. I am sure this swipe keyboard doesn‘t work with anything else than english, as usual with Apple. I still don’t have it for norwegian and swedish many years later on the iPhone or the iPad.

No sale date? Was ready to trade in my Series 5, but now I have to wait until late fall?

Acute corners on a watch? No thanks. The rounded corners do a good job fending off impacts and wear and tear. I predict that square corners will be a terrible idea, particularly on aluminum body watches.

Seriously, if they really go with the same corner angles as found on a phone, it will be a cosmetic disaster in a matter of weeks for many people.

Aw I wanted the flatter edges

You would have regretted it inside of a week. Sharp corners on watches become a cosmetic disaster in no time.

I'm confused. Fall detection didn't work while cycling, before?
Not sure but isn’t it usually disabled when working out? A bumpy ride in the outback and the watch will ask every 2 minutes if you had a fall? It asks me this when I dive from 3 meters at work sometimes. Annoying but I rather keep it on and dismiss it a few times a month than miss it and really have a fall.

I don't know what kind of surveys they ran that showed that people wanted a bigger screen over better battery life.

That to me is absurd.
You’re not wrong.
But people like shiny new objects to show off they have the latest model.

A better battery can’t be posed while you can with thinner bezels. Plus we don’t even know if this has a different processor.

Those renders of the squared off version similar to the new iPad/iPhones that beautifully matched Apples new/retro design were really exciting. Wished that Apple had chosen to carry the flattened edges to all of it’s devices. It sure seemed like that was the direction that Apple was headed. Upgrading from the S4 still seems worth it, that is if the S7 has an upgraded processor and battery life (either due to a larger batter or more efficient SoC). Perhaps a little duct tape and ingenuity could convert an iPad mini 6 into a larger Apple Watch...

I’m planning on ordering this at Best Buy when it goes on sale this Black Friday. I use my Apple Watch every day and am glad that Apple continues to improve it each year- especially the heath features
Me too. I think I liked both product and will be buying both. I have already sold my AW6( 350) and 12 pro max(800) so couple hundred bucks to get a the shiny products. I do this every year, few hundred to get the new device every year, The only thing, how will I go about ,y daly life without AW. I am so use to it.Anyway I will use my Tag H and Raymond Weil for a month or so..

Anyone else struggling for any proper picture and info, comparisons are only series 6 and lower.

They really really are going for the we aren’t bothered at all with this release aren’t they.

it’s launched when we can be bothered it seems. 🤦‍♂️

Apple is suspiciously not saying what chip is inside, I would’ve automatically assumed it’s the S7 but the fact that there’s no mention anywhere gets me worried that this update is even more insignificant than we realize. There’s no tech specs page on apple.com or anything for this model yet. Very weird.
Perhaps they haven’t finished with it? It would explain the ‘fall’ date, rather than an accurate date.

Why compare this to the series 3??? I'm pretty sure there's not many of those in the wild anymore. So Series 7 is basically a Series 6 with a slightly, very slightly, bigger screen. It takes longer to charge, has the same battery life, and no new sensors. The most lame upgrade series so far IMHO.

What happened, how did seemingly everyone get it wrong?! Incredibly underwhelming update all things considered
