I haven't seen any numbers. I wonder how the thickness compares to the s6. I probably won't buy it for a bit more screen space but I would if it was a bit thinner. I will probably be most likely to upgrade next time they add a new bio sensor (temperature would be useful).

Not sure but isn’t it usually disabled when working out? A bumpy ride in the outback and the watch will ask every 2 minutes if you had a fall? It asks me this when I dive from 3 meters at work sometimes. Annoying but I rather keep it on and dismiss it a few times a month than miss it and really have a fall.
It worked just fine, I’m a frequent mountain biker and have experienced falls and fall detection

Huuuuge swing and a miss for the rumor mill on this one. And on Apple's part for the most uninspired update to the Watch yet. I had no intention of upgrading from my s6 this year anyway. Guess that means the s8 will be packing in a lot more features as well as a big pent up demand.

The Apple Watch design is an icon in the smart watch market and changing it radically would be a big mistake. It's immediately recognisable in shape, size and the way the watch faces and bands look.

I don't think we'll ever see much more than refinements to the design as doing flat edges or changing the whole design to circular or making it more squared would stray too far from the original design.

The Apple Watch watch was never meant to be indistinguishable from an analogue watch or to be a tiny iPhone 12 for your wrist with flat edges.

Plus, you can get circular or flat edged smart watches from other brands and Apple does not want it's flagship smart watch to be confused with other brands'.

The Apple Watch design is here to stay.

ugh debating on updating from 6 or not, seems no huge improvements.... whatever, going to get it anyways :p

The case doesn't look very flat to me.
The predictor failed on this one. Looks pretty cool thought I just don’t see a need to upgrade from my 5 titanium. When I do upgrade I’m doing to love the jump but not right now. Maybe on the 9th gen.

The presented Apple Watch commercial showed an app presumably able to sense the speed of a tennis serve. I can't be the only tennis player who noticed that one's watch is almost always worn on the non-dominant arm. That is to say, a right-handed player (who would hold the racket and serve with his right hand) would wear the watch on the left arm. Unless I'm missing something, this seems like a very basic thing to overlook.

Was there a single physical new innovative feature released today in any product line, other than the marginal increases in battery, screen size, speed, blah blah blah? No new health features, or different watch style, no interesting Apple TV upgrade, nothing about iPad Airs? Maybe we expected too much during a pandemic. It's apparent after this NON-EVENT, Apple's innovation is not escaping the global supply-chain debacle and economic distortions.

I'm still on the S1... lol... so I'm definitelty due for an upgrade... but it sounds like a discounted 6 on Black Friday might be the way to go?

Not even some improvements to sleep tracking and oxygen measure. With the faster charging it wouldn’t have been such a big problem running blood oxygen checks more often and also activating the mic for sleep apnea detection.

I will get a new band or two. Some colors where nice and maybe there will be some nice Nike ones.

Edit: Did anyone else thought about harder display material, like ceramic shield from the iphone or sapphire crystal for all Watches when they saw the intro with all the rocks hitting the display? For a while I was even thinking they where going to give us an updated Watch 7 Pro with the new design.. like better display, new design, new size and higher price.. since its PRO!

for those that have the series 6 and are underwhelmed about the series 7

I don’t think it’s worth the upgrade nor should you upgrade every year

Speaking for myself coming from a Series 4 with a degraded battery that barely last 1.5 days…. It’s worth the upgrade and I thinking about getting a Titanium this time around

but best believe…. I’m not upgrading again until the series 10/11

I feel like it's time to put a final nail on the coffin on leakers' news and stop getting everyone hyped wrong way.
Can we say goodbye to Prosser and similar beings on the news feed page of this website? Seriously.

So it's not a flat screen like all these analysts predicted. Another proof that we should stop listening to these "analysts". Most accurate info always comes from random leakers on Twitter.
I laughed when they showed it! And I was relieved, as I didn’t particularly like the squarish mock ups. The rumor mill got this very wrong😂
