All good, best thing probably no need to update apps. This is and always has been incredibly annoying, BUT a) Siri can't understand more than your system language b) doesn't look like they have changed anything about the stupid stock keyboard. This freaking thing has been more or less the same since the first iPhone. Brilliant back then, not so brilliant today.

iVeOS 7 rocks!

Looks stunningly beautiful. Hopefully, it will be available sooner for all of the iLovers.

Haters and trolls, just go away. We thought you already moved on.

The new design looks great - with stock apps. Have they considered what the home screen will look like mixed with third party apps from the App Store? It's going to be a mix of flat and gloss, and look even worse than before. -_-

The gloss effect is just an overlay provided by Xcode unless the developers have added the gloss in themselves.

Apple could effectively force the binary to remove Xcode gloss effect rendering them flat, as for the rest, you'll just have to pray those developers update.

I stopped using gloss effects about a year ago, looks awful.

I think overall it looks awesome, there are certianly things I don't like about some of the homepage icon design, but apart from that I think it looks really good..

I agree. I can definitely look past a few icon designs as long as the iOS runs as smooth as it looks. I'm pretty excited.

I love it - in fact, today's Keynote has rekindled my love for all things Apple...a great Mac Pro, stunning iOS7, great OS X improvements and cool iRadio.

By the way, Craig was in fine shape today; what an awesome performance..!

MS IS DEAD. AND SO IS ANDROID.
Graig Steal The Show He Was Great!

I think it looks too "pretty" and is meant to appeal to the very young and the very old. It's not bad, I like it, but it looks a little too "precious" to me.

No, the very old won't be able to figure out what everything is because of the loss of skeumorphism. Those real world appearances are what help older folks make the connection from real world to virtual world. I think iOS7 is going to alienate a lot of the upper end of Apple's customer demographic.

Just my opinion, but an opinion that comes from teaching my 80 something year old father how to use the iPhone.

It looks like it's meant for an 8 year old....

My first thought when I saw it was "bubble gum ice cream". That immediately led me to thinking this looks a lot like Android. I think I'll like the new functionality, but the graphics/colors are a real turn off. Perhaps I'll like it more over time. Or maybe I'm just becoming an old fart...

Just as long as this forum is polarized by iOS 7

That being said - I don't think the rumor that all the rumors about iOS7 were wrong at all. Many were spot on.

looks like devs should consider updating their apps soon, they will no longer look pleasant on the eye next to that new UI. less buttons more words

They will look too much pleasant on the eye next to that new UI )

The gloss is added on top of the icon. That said, I expect app designers will be redesigning their icons with a "simpler" flatter look. Growing pains.

True, but personally, I know I use a lot of Apps that are no longer frequently updated by the developer but are quite valuable to me. With millions and millions of apps, it's going to take a LONG time before anyone's home screen is going to look coherent. When you visit the iOS 7 website they only show Apple's apps - so the new design looks great. It's really, REALLY going to look like crap once it's installed onto someone's phone with more apps though, lol. :(

So what you're saying is when Apple copies a feature, it's ok because they design like they're the only tech company in the world. But when another company copies an Apple feature, Apple brings out their lawyers because they gotta protect themselves. Funny.

What is shocking double standard.

And the continued trend of arbitrarily holding back features to push sells of new devices. So sickeningly sad that they feel they have to hold things back just to push sales of devices.

What makes you think it's arbitrary?

In fact, it's not. AirDrop requires certain hardware features that the older devices do not support.

I'm not to sure about this whole "transparent" design. Not a fan of the shadows at all

I wouldnt board that ship just yet, Im 24 and this UI is too bubbly and immature.

Looks too windowsy/androidy, but can't wait to see what the jailbreak community does with it. At least I can update my wife's phone to it first to try it out. :D

funny how it's always someone's "friend" or "neighbor"...

i like how one of the touted features is animated weather on the screen.. htc sense has had that for years. good update from apple.. but it looks like they are still catching up.. android already has most of these features already.

also, now that ios looks a lot like android.. i'm sure people will say.. "but it's going to be implemented better by apple".. oh well

I've been an Android user and I hated the experience. From what I've seen today Apple has borrowed some ideas from Android and I believe has done it better (and definitely prettier). Just because Android might have done something doesn't make it off limits to Apple doing and doing it better.
