I think iOS 7 can be easily summed up - when you statistically take out the extremes (the "it's perfect amazement, Ive for God!" Fanboys and "It copied it all from Android, piece of crap!" haters) you're left with the rational 80% or so of people who will think -

1: Love the new functionality, a great improvement.

2: Hate the stupid, ill-proportioned, pre-school graphic icons.

The End.

Well said. :) The graphics may grow on me and I know Apple pioneered the use of white, but yikes the amount of white feels very sterile. Maybe it works better when holding a white device in your hand.

You were saying?

Since you are clearly a Google supporter, You sound silly making this comment since most of what they do is stolen.

Nice assumption, and you've succeeded in making an ass out of yourself. The only thing I use Google for is email. Ive been a loyal Apple fan since 2006, but I possess the rare quality of an objective opinion about Apple, a concept foreign to Apple fans like you.

Question...

Are we able to "quickly reply" when someone sends us an SMS? or do we still have to open the Messages app?

I saw this is now possible on the Desktop Mac OS X, but what about iOS 7?

Please someone reply and let me know!

I love this new design, I was getting tired of the same design of IOS for years.

This will be a success.

It was time for a new design and only a genius like johny ive could design something like this

* From an IOS user since the first iphone

I agree. This is just a starting point.....for bigger and better things. They didn't really have that much time to work on iOS 7.

1) The updates to usability are nice. Overall the direction is good in this area.

2) The icons and flattened UI sucks and looks like they hired a bunch of kids to decide upon the look. Icon design is horrible and has taken 20 steps back.

The end.

It really is. I imagine them in their basements, drinking their mountain dew, typing on their alienware laptop, etc.

It's funny that hardcore android fans find the time to watch 2-hour APPLE PRODUCT PRESENTATIONS, then log into MacRumors to troll in real-time.

I would never find myself watching or caring about anything that Google/Samsung does, let alone watching any presentations they do, or logging into any android forums to complain about their products.

Dear android shills:

YES, YES. LET THE BUTTHURT FLOW THROUGH YOU.

:apple:

By hardcore android fans I am sure you mean people like me.

Who have a macbook pro, a macbook air, a ipad 3, (had all iphones, and all ipads up to 3) and also have an android phone like the HTC one.

So I have spent around $10,000. with apple, and $650. with android, yep, that makes me a raving fan... :D:cool::rolleyes:

Hey trolls, Fandroids, WinMoDroids, sensationalist reactionaries and other technology luddites:

How does it feel to know that we all knew you were coming many months ago, and we already knew your unimaginative, pre-scripted "meme" phrases, sentences and tedious "scene" anti-Apple art were going to be as dull and uninspired as your opinions - which are based on NOTHING, since you don't yet have a copy of iOS 7 in your hands, and are therefore just saying something LOUD to get everyone to look at you so you can carry on and perform your tedious, stale rant plays?

Do you feel like the centre of attention? Great! Now go offline, and focus that energy on something useful... unless you think Apple are going to un-announce iOS 7 because of your tantrums?

Have a nice evening :)

Yes, a white square with the date on it?!?
How I am supposed to ever guess that was for the calendar app?
Wherefrom should I know it's a date? It could be a temperature or a message count or something else. Up until now the Calender icons in OSX and iOS hat a familiarity, which made it easier to connect and identify them. Not anymore. This is a change for the worse.

If you judged Apple's popularity by the sheer number of negative internet posts about them and their products, you'd think they were the least popular of all smartphone and computer manufacturers. The truth is something close to the opposite.

A lot of forum-posting geeks are unemployed or underemployed. They sit in their parents' basement and tinker with electronics they bought on the cheap. They like upgrading and they like customization. They hate stuff aimed at the mainstream; "ease of use" is considered a bad thing. They also likely can't quite afford the top-end stuff like Mac Pros and retina MBPs, so they vent their rage in internet forums. It's a sad phenomenon.

Quite a lot of spiteful assumptions from a fanboy.

Have you ever considered that some people here are Apple fans and are just severely disappointed with the direction iOS is heading? Oh, of course not, your brain doesn't have the capacity to acknowledge opinions different from your own. Carry on with your *gasp* shiny new Apple products. Ohhhhhh, ahhhhhhh, pretty colors.

Lol. The "they just copied android" meme came directly from the marketing department at Samsung. Notice how focused and prevalent this message is on this forum?

after looking at the video they posted on apple.com; i really like it. I want to get ride of 6 now

also, Craig was pretty good and funny today. good job

yes, because anyone who is not absolutely thrilled by any offering from apple must be a troll.

Its not like we have free will, or the right to our own opinions.

I think I'll wait for iOS 7.2 when the hideous icons get a complete makeover.

Something really bizarre as well, no visual clue on the camera shutter. That just looks wrong. Siri still has a mic visual clue, why no camera visual clue on the white circle?

The functionality looks good, much better in fact. But visually it's a head on smash between Metro phone and Android. I imagine that's due to the time constraints. None of this would have started until after Steve Forestall got the boot, so it's a rush job.

I can see this being heavily refined to be a little easier on the eye over the next couple of years. Control centre in particular, it's a proper rushed mess visually.
