They paid attention to all the fine and minute details....except getting the kerning right between 1s.

like in 11 or teen numbers.

can everyone please do me a favour and get off the developer portal so i can download ios 7?

I'm not sure how to feel about the new look.

On one hand, its a logical progression in how interfaces should look and operate, yet it feels too much like a Google app or Microsoft's new Outlook interface. Nothing wrong with that, but it just seems to conformist. It's very modern, sleek, and simplistic. I'm not sure Apple needed to go this route, but I'll welcome it nevertheless.

This release will make iOS 6 looks like a marginal update from 5.

Put me down for #2 please.

And before anyone dares to think or say it... I've NEVER owned or used Android and never will. In fact, I'll never allow anything made by Samsung in this house again after they blatantly ripped off Apple's hardware designs.

What apple pulled today in sans franciso should have their entire board & team arrested.

The level of duplicating of prior work I have never seen in any industry. the entire iOS7 is a sham.

Looking forward to see this in real life.

All the new functionality is awesome.
But those icons .. and the colours ... on top of those family photos, man, the screenshots (and the Apple keynote) really didn't sell them to me. Are they supposed to be 'coherent'?
I really hope, they look better irl.

Remember this anecdote:

Jobs will be turning in his grave at the Fisher Price design...

Its a disgrace that you have to copy your competitor in an attempt to stand in the same footing.

I applaud Android, WP8, and BB10 for keeping it original.

Amazing, for ages people on here have been screaming for the features, look, and feel of what Apple have shown us today yet people are still complaining, people are saying Apple have copied Android. I'm sorry but it seems like those people can't be pleased, and sorry for telling you this but Apple invented the modern smart phone so there is noway anyone can comeback and say Apple are copying.

If you want to complain that Apple are missing out on things and then complain when Apple does something about then go ahead, just don't ever expect to be satisfied.

Really like the features. Icons not so much, but I can get over that. Only disappointment was seeing quick reply including for Mac and almost assuming it was coming to iOS, then nothing. Really? How hard would it be for them to add this one last needed feature.

iOS 7 looks and feels great, but it's not much more than what I anticipated.

Why can't you Apple bring some innovation and pleasant surprises? It is a great improvement over iOS 6, but I still feel kinda underwhelmed after watching the WWDC.

They are trolls, some of them paid. They are not real Apple fans.

Certainly interesting, waiting for the rest of the presentation before I pass judgement. I am laughing at the mock-up thread and reading the reactions here, it's like opposite day here. Yesterday in the mock-up thread: This looks like crap, who designed this, an 8 year old?!. Today when it is revealed: OMG, it is amazing, iI just jizzed in my pants!!!!!! Classic MacRumors.

1. At least half the responses in this thread are "It's awful, I hate it!!!"

2. The "mock-up" seen yesterday looked nothing like the actual product in motion, which is what people are reacting to now. Blurry spy-cam shots and mockups never get a good reaction because they always look like crap.

The more I'm looking at it, the more I like it.

Initially thought the icons looked a bit crappy, but check out the iOS 7 video on the Apple Website. The icons looked crappy in the low res streamed keynote. When seen in highres they look much better.

Also some little stuff that I didn't pick up on in the keynote.
  • The UI elements on the lock screen change colour based on your wall paper (at 3:21 on the video). Wonder if this carries over to the rest of the OS
  • The clock app icon seems to be showing the correct time at 3:24 in the video and at several other points. However the system time is always 9:41, so dunno if this is just a fluke or not. (though in several shots the second hand seems to be in a different place) - Update: Checking the keynote, the clock icon is definitely updating
  • Closing apps works like in WebOS now, swipe the card up. Much better
  • Video camera doesn't seem to crop the content when compared with photo camera - 4:41, 4:44
  • The whole system seems to make use of animations a lot more, which I'm guessing will help make the system feel pretty lively even with the flatter UI
  • I might be wrong here, but they seem to be using their own version of Helvetica Neue - look at the lowercase 'i'
  • Oh and the new folders interface looks pretty damn cool!

Just remember, it took 6 years to get iOS to the point that it was at 9:59 AM this morning. iOS 7 is merely a building block in a long-term roadmap.

I like where they're headed.
