I could care less about who copied who. iOS 7 looks amazing and I'm excited. Apple is the company that everyone loves to hate. They always will be. Fall can't come soon enough!
It seems silly to piss all over a design you haven't even looked at in person yet. Until you've used it, I can't see the justification for all the vitriol here. The comments about copying are also pathetic and hilarious. Design trends tend to span entire industries. Car manufacturers have moved away from the 1970s boxy look...smartphone OS's are moving toward a flat, clean look. So what?
Apple was unquestionably a major leader in a smartphone revolution that changed the tech industry. Now the innovation has slowed down (due to the maturation of the products), but they're doing their best to refine the experience every year. Some of that will be "keeping up with the Joneses". Blah blah, so what. The same is true of MS and Google. It's all incremental now, but only Apple seems to be the target of all this misplaced vitriol. I think there are some deeper reasons for that. And in many cases it has a lot to do with those "assumptions" I made.
No. So that we can discuss iOS and iPhone without getting bogged down in arguments about another OS. It. is. seriously. tiresome. I came here to talk about iOS 7 and almost 100% of the discussion is just trolling and flame wars. The mods really should do something.
Just perfect for you then.![]()
Wow, finally full multitasking?! SMH, this has been in Android for at least a year if not longer.
On the other hand the fact that iOS 7 will learn your app usage patterns is an interesting concept. Apple had a tough task here, how to update the OS without alienating the long-term users by changing everything. I am excited to see how this all plays out on a new iPhone, although for now I plan on keeping my Note II.
Who cares?
Seriously, who cares? Apple's iPhone was the impetus behind this entire revolution in the tech industry that saw phones becoming more talked-about than traditional computers. They did it again with the iPad. And you're complaining that they've made similar UI design choices to Android in their seventh iteration? Who the h*** cares?
Not really. If youre going to complain about people having different opinions, either wall yourself up in your basement or ignore them.
Apple fanboys:
If Samsung even copied a gradient style from the iPhone, there would be lawsuits and threads of you guys cheering.
When Apple borrows heavily from Android/Windows/and the jailbreak community, "who cares? Apple FTW! Suck it haterzz!"
Do you see a problem there?
There's having different opinions and theres trolling and/or being douchey about it.
...and android fanboys don't do this? I really don't understand your point. Would you like to explain it?
The best part of Apple announcements is the opportunity to update my ignore list on MR. I imagine with a few key phrases ("where's the innovation" or "copied Android") you could even automate the process.
I think it looks absolutely brilliant. Without doubt one of the finest introductions I've ever seen from Apple. BRAVO!!!!![]()
Certainly interesting, waiting for the rest of the presentation before I pass judgement. I am laughing at the mock-up thread and reading the reactions here, it's like opposite day here. Yesterday in the mock-up thread: This looks like crap, who designed this, an 8 year old?!. Today when it is revealed: OMG, it is amazing, iI just jizzed in my pants!!!!!! Classic MacRumors.![]()
Dont you apple fan boys hold yourself in higher esteem than fandroids though?

Yup. Starting now.
