funny how it's always someone's "friend" or "neighbor"...

I'm sorry. Would you like me to pop over to my neighbor's house (he lives right next door to me), take a picture of his Galaxy Nexus, and then post it sitting on a piece of paper with my username on kit?

Would that placate you?

I do not want to watch two hours of sales talk to get an answer to a simple question. Based on your defensive answer, my guess is we still do not have true multitasking.

Also, tell me what of the UI changes is not "borrowed" from Android? The "multitasking" view panel? Or the "new" Control Center? Yes, both have been in the stock Android OS for over a year now.

So iOS should not have multitasking and slide up controls? I bet they got developed in the iOS Jailbreak community even before Android.

It's kind of like arguing that every car since the Ford should not have a steering wheel.

Apple adding new feature obviously is not a problem. The fact that they are doing it slower than other, however, is a problem. iOS 7 does not leapfrog Android. It stays behind.

Nobody cares, though.

The majority of things that people use to say how Android is "better then" iOS are things that the majority of people don't care about. I still don't understand how supposed tech "insiders" and those that follow this stuff can be so out of reality when it comes to things like this.

This is everything I jailbroke my 3GS for back in 2009. Fast toggles, PalmOS style multi-task cards, and animated backgrounds. Yay, now it's finally there by default.

The fact that majority of people now prefer Android to iOS (is it 2 to 1 nowadays?) indicates that people might actually care.

It's tedious to read the replies which are so repetitive to the Apple iOS vs Google Android. I ask you - why do you care so much who had what first or who copied who? For all that is holy - just use the device and OS you like and stop caring so much whether the feature you like came from the jailbreak community, Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft and just be glad you have the feature to use.

Seriously this pissing contest is ridiculous and some of the attitudes hereabout people that disagree with their opinion or use other OSes is infantile. Stop worrying about what other people use. As long as you use what you like that's all that matters. Nothing else.

And everyone is free to express their opinion - and they should be able to do so on this forum without being called a shill, paid employee of x company or anti-x company. If you don't agree with their opinion - that doesn't make them an employee of any "rival" company. It just means they have a different opinion. Get used to it. And get over it.

People don't prefer Android; they prefer cheap phones.

Nobody, except maybe the Google+ drones, actually go "oh my gosh, Android is sooooo amazing".

No reply would have worked better. :)

Who cares if something was "borrowed" or whatnot. Seriously, use Android if you like it, use iOS if you like that. To claim that iOS or Android invented something is just plain ridiculous.

Any company is adding features to their own device, simple as that.

Actually, it's Apple that's claiming that these are new.

Me, I waited to see what Apple had in store, and just placed an order for the Lenovo K900.

For the foreseeable future, I am done with the iPhone and my iPhone 5 will be simply left at my office as a testing unit.

I think Jony got flat UI design right. Physically flat design - like the MacBook, iMac, iPhone, etc - are not totally flat. They are influenced by light, by their environment. Flat design like Metro isn't influenced by anything, and so looks just kinda boring.

Using a flat, translucent GUI, Jony has created a flat UI that is influenced by its environment. It took me a few hours, but after looking at it now, it looks absolutely beautiful. People are just too used to iOS 6 and Android interfaces, that such a radical departure will take a little time to sink in.

That flat design which is influenced by its environment existed for a while. It's called Windows Phone. But I'm not complaining, flat design is the future. Simple, yet effective.

So Scott Forstall now just needs to start a new company developing a new mobile OS and when Apple will be on the edge of bankruptcy (it seems to be an option now) they will buy him back just as Apple once bought NEXT and Steve.

What a bunch of nonsense. Sorry - but if you believe that you're ignorant to those that do.

Yeah it's a big change, but overall I'm impressed. Really like the Control Centre feature.

I think there'll be a lot of people that will really like it, but there will be some that have perhaps been with iOS for a few years and will not like such a big change. From what I've seen, I think Apple have got a good balance on change but not massively enough to scare some people away from iOS.

In the end I think that most users will get used to it and enjoy the new UI.

Ignore facts if you wish but it's true. Android was marketed toward cheap phones to get Google onto as many devices as possible.

People, other then nerds on the Internet, don't really care what Android does or is.

It looks like iOS still DOES NOT have true multitasking. It simply implemented the multitasking selector panel from Android OS.

And, no, the iOS jailbreaking community, or what's left of it nowadays, copied Android verbatim, and Apple did it too.

Ironically, you seem to have forgotten that it was Apple filing lawsuits left and right because others implemented stuff like "elastic" scroll....

I just want a black version of iOS 7 for my black iPhone. Maybe the have it in mind..it was conspicuous that they kept showing white iPhones all the time.

Okay, I'm halfway delirious, what from being up for over 30 hours straight, and having spent a goodly portion of that time busting my ass in horrid conditions...

...but from what I've read of iOS7, I'd say it's got about 95% of everything I wanted. I think my only disappointment is that we're still unable to change default apps, but I can...eh...live with that. At least we have much better multitasking and a true and proper control center now.
