Interesting to see all the minor update gripes, it’s a mature product, what exactly were people expecting? The new iPhone 13, it can now read your mind ?

Anyway it’s a significant upgrade from my X so i am happy with all the cumalative improvements to video and photography, 120 MHz , battery life, better display and audio compared to my current iPhone.

No always-on display? Since I can’t see any difference with promotion (based on my iPad Pro experience), that’s not a selling point to me. Pretty much the only thing that interests me is the cameras, but right now I’m torn. I bought a new iPhone every year (sometimes more than one) every year since the beginning, up until the 11. But the last two iterations haven’t done much for me. 5G, MagSafe, promotion, improved cameras and speed, I guess. But 5G is rare here, MagSafe isn’t much use to me, and the phone is already fast enough for everything I do with it.

Guess we’ll see how I feel Friday.

Dual eSIM support! Yes!

Everyone deciding about whether to upgrade or not, remember to factor into depreciation. This is one of the most overlooked data points I see in iPhone upgrade discussions. What can you get if you resell your current device now vs 2022? Just something to consider.

Was hoping for always on display, wishing for Touch ID in the power button, thought astrophotography would be a nice touch. But the blue’s a really nice surprise, and I could use more storage and 5G. So it’s probably a go for me - 13Pro, 512 or 1TB. Most likely blue, maybe graphite. Coming from the 11Pro, not a huge upgrade, but better camera and coverage are worth it for me.

This may be an ignorant question - Can they not fit in an M1 chipset into the phone? Why are they insisiting on keeping these separate? The Ipad Pros have them - why can't the iphone pros have them too?

Interesting, no stand features on the max this year? I was waiting for them to move over to the max for any camera differences but never happened. They also never mentioned the base storage on the pro so I’ll assume it’s still 128gb. Basically 120hz and camera spec bump are the big upgrades this year
They did

So just to make sure, unlike last year, aside from screen size, there is no difference on the Pro vs Pro Max, correct?
Seems so. At least something positive about this release - no need to get the Max for the best possible camera this time.

Looking at their hype screen, I saw "Water Resistant". Huh? I think the iPhone 8 was water resistant. Tell me it is still water proof.
for past few years apple has started talking about old features and put it at centre stage. or when they compare with older iPhone, they at times even use older than last year one to make it seem it improves a lot shows you even apple know there is not much new features they can talk about

Perhaps it was mentioned but I missed it. Other than battery and screen size differences, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are identical?

Last year I went with the Pro Max becuase it offered a better camera (more zoom + better stabilization and a larger sensor) compared to the non-max version.

Am I correct that this year the Pro and Pro Max have identical camera arrays? If so I'm looking forward to going back to the smaller form factor. I didn't hate the pro max but consider slightly smaller to be superior...
