This may be an ignorant question - Can they not fit in an M1 chipset into the phone? Why are they insisiting on keeping these separate? The Ipad Pros have them - why can't the iphone pros have them too?

Maybe physical size and power usage. I’d rather have a completely optimized design for every device than a one-chip-fits-all.

I love it!
Were you disappointed there’s no bronze? It looks like Apple leaked a lot of false stuff because the rumors were wrong about the colors. I’m pleasantly surprised by the pale blue pro color. I can’t tell if the graphite looks different this year. I need to find a good photo

And the Apple Watch 7 looks nothing at all like the leaks, thank goodness. It’s a nice looking watch. I’d be tempted to upgrade but I prefer to keep my watches for 2 years unless there’s something I’m massively dissatisfied with.

At first I was disappointed the minis were missing some colors I really liked. Like the green and purple. But the blue and red look beautiful this year. I’m also starting to like that pale pink.

The iPad minis are going to be a hit with my family. I’m probably going to have to get one in purple for myself, eventually.

Easy upgrade for me. Huge upgrade on the camera front. Proper light field photography stuff with the ability to change video focus points in post. Good stuff.

I don’t understand. No touch ID or always on display, even on the Pro models? I’m looking for features that actually improve and make my life easier everyday. I may have to consider the Pixel 6 this year.

You know Apple likes to stretch things out. promotion and cinematic were enough headliners.... always on display probably for next year... They always give 1 or 2 big features and then a bunch of fluff.

No always-on display? Since I can’t see any difference with promotion (based on my iPad Pro experience), that’s not a selling point to me. Pretty much the only thing that interests me is the cameras, but right now I’m torn. I bought a new iPhone every year (sometimes more than one) every year since the beginning, up until the 11. But the last two iterations haven’t done much for me. 5G, MagSafe, promotion, improved cameras and speed, I guess. But 5G is rare here, MagSafe isn’t much use to me, and the phone is already fast enough for everything I do with it.

Guess we’ll see how I feel Friday.

How the heck has Apple not figured out always on display for iPhones yet? Mind boggling.

Not too sure it’s worth going pro for me. In fact, it might be best for me to just buy a 12. Hmm. Obviously Pro means “camera” for the most part. While I’d live to have the Pro camera, not sure I’d really use it. I have some thinking to do.

So just to make sure, unlike last year, aside from screen size, there is no difference on the Pro vs Pro Max, correct?
And the pro max has a better battery.. but I did not see any other changes on the camera

Underwhelmed with the upgrades, but I just simply cannot hold off another year to upgrade. My phone due to a stupid accident is quite literally being held together in the back by the case.

I really miss telephoto on my 12 coming from XS. I like those shots a lot. Other than that, Pro is al about the little things and niches.

My biggest issue is that colors are very meh. I mean phones almost always end up in cases but still the lineup is underwhelming.

Everyone deciding about whether to upgrade or not, remember to factor into depreciation. This is one of the most overlooked data points I see in iPhone upgrade discussions. What can you get if you resell your current device now vs 2022? Just something to consider.
iphones have better less deprecation than other brands. That is one area you don't really have to worry about.

No huge improvement for me ,but camera improvement from iphone 11 pro, could be worth it.
120hz screen may be nice have to compare iphones when they are released to see the benfits for me.

I knew it wasn't to be

but I still hoped the rumours would be wrong after I started seeing USB-C on the iPad Mini

But in my heart of hearts
I knew it wasn't to be :'(
why ppl expect apple to ditch lightning lol. they make so much money off licensing every year. sure they change iPad , but lets be real, iPhone is their bread and butter and while I don't know exact figure, but its half , if not more of their revenue therefore they are not going to ditch it that easily.

also iPad position is different in term of the market
