The USD is a lot stronger than it used to be compared to the EUR; gone from 0,75:1 last year to 1:1 this year so the phones have actually become less expensive in Germany compared to prices in the US 😅
Accounting for VAT, the entry iPhone 14 Pro is 13% more expensive in Denmark than in the US, making the $ to DKK prices ~1:10 ($999 to DKK 10,499) like it's been for generations actually...

Honestly the first iPhone that has me excited to replace my iPhone 11. I’ll be getting the Pro, Max is just too large for me.
What bigger than ever gap are you referring to? The price differences between comparable storage size 14/14 Plus and 14 Pro/14 Pro Max models is $170. The price difference between comparable storage size 11 and 11 Pro models was $300.
The iPhone 13 price drop is $100, not $200.

This isn't Apple's fault. It's the fault of EU politicians. Amazing so few people protest against them destroying the value of the currency.
Pro tip : maybe you can snap up a discounted 13 pro still. It should go up in value the coming months!
Apple will have bad year in Europe. Increasing interest rates push up mortgage payments and electricity prices are sky high with at least five fold increase.
Even though the price would have remained the same many people will most likely have to cut spending. With the increased price I feel that it is over the pain point for many of those who don’t get it from their work.

Also, as you mention, you pay 20% VAT in Germany, they pay 0% VAT in the US (and local taxes are only calculated at checkout as opposed to German VAT) - in Denmark with 25% VAT, this fits neatly: $1149 = DKK 8536. DKK 8536 * 125% = DKK 10,670. Price in Denmark is DKK 10,499. $1149 = €1160. €1160 * 1,20 = $1392 so you're actually getting a €93 discount! 😅
I'll be preordering the Prince Purple iPhone 14 Pro Max on Friday. It's too bad Apple doesn't give you instant credit for your old device. Best Buy does - only when you pick up the phone in store. So I'll be preordering through Best Buy. Ugh.

I don’t know, the pill looks absolutely annoying for watching movies or anything else full screen with the screen held horizontally. Way worse than the notch.
I know another dark color on Pro that looks black, and the one on the regular 14 is so washed out. Why can't there even be bright colors?
