OK, so now there isn't any subsidy, do they all come unlocked? And if that's the case can I buy from any carrier?

I guess I have to upgrade my car (can't upgrade the stereo) in order to listen to music and charge the 7 simultaneously. Fail.

if you don't even have bluetooth audio that's a fail on your car

use your old phone while you drive around in your old car
if you care about music then buying a car in which you can't upgrade the stereo wasn't a very wise decision

Like most phones this year, it's an incremental update nothing special. Removing the headphone jack has to be one of the dumbest ideas ever, so now you have to use another dongle and can't even listen to music and charge your phone.

Also so sick of all the fancy words for colors, just call it black, grey and whatever.

It's clear that most of the work will go into next years model.

As a photographer, do you think "fake" bokeh is kinda lame?

It's just like any filter, right? It's fine if you're happy with it, but normally you probably won't have control over it anyway. There's a difference in bokeh where you can tell what the background is and when its mush. Sometimes you want to show the background to tell the story, as well (think of taking a picture at a sporting event, yet you can't tell what the background is, so no one know where the heck you're shooting). If the "depth detector" can't read it fully out and just blurs the back to heck, what's the point? Of course, I'm talking out my rear, because I've never played with the iPhone 7, naturally.

Personally, I think it's a fun thing that will end up being the latest hotness in Instagram. That being said, I still love having complete control of my f stop and lens to get exactly the layout I want.

I think I'm doing the Apple payment plan on this one... next years phone should be kick butt and I want that option to upgrade then too.

A very good event today... Awesome iPhone upgrade, nice Apple Watch 2.0 and getting Nintendo at the same time! AWESOME!

What is the problem?

They are providing you an adapter free of charge. And they're moving into the fully digital world.

To me it sounds like a win-win.

You just can't please some people... The fact they unveiled AirPods make up for it.

So Jet Black - what a fiasco - nobody remembers the iPhone 4? Jet Black but with much better materials?

Besides, it's all covered with a case - pointless.

Mugs AKA Hipsters game.

Ya? Courage? Seriously? Courage to force everyone to conformity yes. At least they included the adapter. I guess even the Apple team can be "designed to be smarter" and listen to the consumers. They know now to include all additional dongles and adapters with all their new devices from here on in.

Courage? Please! Courage to manufacture yet another adapter by removing a headphone jack hole is courageous, exactly how may I ask?

Ya.. Here, we took away that hole, but there you go a new adapter to carry around with you and your new phone, thank you very much later! Suckas!

Courage, NOT!

I LOVE YOU ALL don't buy this gently updated finger print and smudge magnet. Just sayin... Ya know?
Yeah, courage would be dumping the lighting connector and adopting usb C like everyone else. They are the biggest cowards going. Especially giving us another year of big fat bezels!

I couldn't find that either. The US site and the app both make you declare a carrier.
I found a few articles from last year that said the Sim-Free version didn't go on sale until a while after the initial pre-orders. Either because of supply constraints or, more likely, some bulls**t agreement with the carriers.

Is the wireless audio for AirPods and other similar headphones over Bluetooth? Was hoping for lossless wireless audio.

It's bluetooth. My guess, the improved bluetooth audio part (aptX) which Apple has yet to support, which lets them get away with the marketing gimmick.

From the photos, it doesn't look like you can charge while listening to headphones. If true, that's a pretty huge downside. The only option would be to spend more money on wireless headphones of some kind.

I do this once in a blue moon at work, but I wouldn't consider it much of a downside; a slight inconvenience at worst. Going without music for 30 minutes is not going to kill me and I can't imagine it'd make a huge deal for others.

IMO the improved taptic engine, stereo speakers, solid state home button and other improvements that were made possible by utilizing the headphone jack space was a good trade off and will be copied by Samsung within 2 generations, at which point all this noise about headphone jacks will be dead and we'll move on to the next great debate... The removal of the lightning connector. :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like iPhone SE 64GB dropped from $499 to $449. Looks like a great buy to me. (Wish it had 128 but it will do.)

Of course it's courageous. How do you know it's not? Are you experts?!

Taking away something that many people use is simply courageous. It may not be the right decision but it's courageous and taking a gamble.
